Reasonable price for lunch, tasty as well.
I would suggest the chef use chicken leg meat for the butter chicken, as it would be more tender. Overall, I liked the food. The mango lassi would be better if the sugar level could be adjusted. The chai was great. I will come back.

This place is a true gem for anyone wanting authentic Indian street food. Every dish is bursting with real, bold flavors; delicious food done right!

We went as a family of four, and the boys enjoyed every mouthful, especially the butter chicken and the dessert — both were absolute highlights! It’s not always easy eating out in decent places with children, but this is a fantastic place to take them and we genuinely felt welcome.

The staff and overall atmosphere are incredibly warm and inviting, making it the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. A special shout-out to Nish, who truly goes above and beyond — friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about making sure everyone has a great experience.

Highly recommend for amazing food, great vibes, and family-friendly service. We will definitely be back!

This place has good atmosphere and you can be seated reasonably easily even though it gets very busy(recommend making a reservation on weekend nights though). Staff were polite and fairly attentive. The drinks were gorgeous. The starters and rotis were nice. Unfortunately the rajasthani lamb curry had the gravy that would have gone better with a fish dish. My stomach didn’t feel so good the next day either. FYI I’m Indian.

The food at Bombai is always phenomenal. The knowledge, lived experience and culinary expertise of the chefs makes the food completely authentic and traditional. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and are incredibly personable. Our waiter for the evening was Abhi who was so lovely, and he kindly shared some of his stories about his relationship with food from his time in India. Abhi, and the other members of staff were really attentive and were conscious of making sure we always had what we needed. The food arrived within 15 minutes of us ordering and was exceptional. Bombai is truly one of Norwich’s special treasures.

Had a nice meal here on Sunday. Food was fantastic, really reasonable and very tasty. Service was mostly really good, just a couple of things that let it down. The waiter accidentally poured coke on my lap which wasn’t ideal and we felt like we were an inconvenience towards the end of our booking. But all in all would highly recommend Bombay. It has changed a lot since the renovation and has improved so much on all counts!

I was introduced to this restaurant last year by an Indian friend, who assured me I would enjoy the food. I wasn’t disappointed and have returned multiple times since then. What drew me back was not only the delicious menu, but also the exceptional customer service. I was amazed on two or three occasions when different servers not only remembered when I visited and who I came with but also recalled what I had ordered during those visits. Additionally, I’m impressed by the speed at which I receive my meals, which is particularly important when choosing from the lunch menu.

An outstanding place for traditional Indian Street food, very authentic with a great choice lunch menu.

Nice decor, with some old black & white photographs.

The taste of the food sent my taste buds into overdrive, I have tried traditional Indian street food whilst working in Oman, this place matches the style and tastes exactly.

Finished off the meal with a delicious cup of chai.

Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Here for the birthday 1 year since opening. Served by Jot, could not not do enough for us. The food, as usual was delicious as usual.

Finally! A genuine Indian restaurant in Norwich that serves non-vegetarian food as well! Absolutely love this place, been there 3 times in the last 3 months and recommended it to loads of friends as well. The lunch menu was limited but delicious, I would recommend going for dinner. Authentic Indian food, good spice levels to accommodate all palettes, the chicken tikka, butter chicken, garlic naan, vada pav, bang bang cauliflower, bombai house chaat, were all delicious.
Pani poori was a small portion of 4 only and lacked flavour in the pani and the poori fillings. Chicken 65, prawn koliwala & Amritsari fish were on the spicy side and they were a little overcooked/dry.
I would still give the restaurant a solid 4.8/5! Will definitely go back more to try more dishes.
Ash’s service was fantastic, we had a big birthday celebration and service was excellent, and visited a couple more times after! Lovely music and ambience. There are quite a few tables and some are close together however I’d rather get in and eat there with people next to me than not get seated!
Reasonably priced so that it won’t break the bank!

This is an outstanding place the atmosphere is amazing calming music playing , people that work there are absolutely lovely and very helpful on what the dishes are. Food is delicious the curry came at the most perfect temperature to eat same with the mixed grill. We had the poppadoms and dips to start with the mango chutney was out of this world, poppadoms arrived warm also only 80p per one and they are massive! The only thing I would say it’s a bit of a squeeze so if you have wheelchairs or buggy’s would suggest booking and mention so they can make room for you. This did not affect us so the experience was 10/10 would definitely recommend and go again 🙂
