Best Indian food in Northern VA. We go here a lot and have never been disappointed. Raj, the owner, constantly walks around the dining area educating his patrons about the menu choices. Everything we’ve tried has been outstanding. I’ve eaten at Indian restaurants all over the world and this one rates as one of the best ever. We’re lucky to have it local.

I went to this restaurant when visiting my in-laws in King George VA. We live in Alexandria VA. which is about an hour away. The food is incredible, the flavors profiles are complex- Raj the owner has came out and helped us order every time we have been there. He and his wife are super nice, Listen – Warning, once you eat there you will crave it, Best Indian food I have ever eaten and i have eaten at at least 20 Indian restaurants. We now drive the one hour to get this food at least once a month sometimes two weeks in a row. I heard his father owns a restaurant in Maryland, I want to try that one too, hopefully as good and closer to DC.

I grew up eating curries and spicy, ethnic food. This place is great. The staff will help you order everything down to the spiciness scale. I got the Bollywood special with a spicy scale of 7/10. It was absolutely delicious. I will probably eat here everyday or at least until i run out of money.

After reading great reviews, I thought I’d give this place a try for lunch.
I was a bit disappointed, however. I ordered the Chicken Curry lunch and the plate looked very good but the chicken was a bit tough, the rice was unseasoned so I would have appreciated salt and pepper being present on the table but there was none and sugar packets for the unsweetened ice tea and a refill would have been nice but none offered. The naan was great but could have used a dipping sauce. The server didn’t ask me any questions even though I told him it was my first visit. I may give them another try in the future but not what I expected based on other reviews.

Bollywood Masala is the best restaurant in the King George/Dahlgren/Colonial Beach area. I have been there a dozen times to eat in, and have ordered out many times, and always the quality and price of the food has been excellent. I like to vary my selections, and I have never had a dish I didn’t enjoy. My favorites are the naan, butter chicken, and spinach chicken (can’t remember what it’s called). Additionally, Raj and Panita offer the best customer service of any restaurant I’ve ever visited. Service is quick, polite, and never gets in the way of the dining. Try out the lunch buffet if you’re not sure, and I can guarantee you’ll be hooked.
I cannot recommend this place enough – long live Bollywood Masala!

We’ve had Indian food in Europe, Asia & several places in the U.S., and Bollywood Masala outdoes them all! They serve fresh, quality food with a personal touch. We are fortunate to have the restaurant in King George, CO. May Bollywood Masala continue to thrive!

I’ve gone twice. Raj, the owner, will help you pick a dish that you are sure to like if you aren’t familiar with Indian food. Second time I went was with a group of friends. We asked Raj to put together a meal for 9 people and the dinner he came up with was fantastic. If you are in the area make sure to put Bollywood at the top of your list!

This review is for the buffet lunch only. Since I was in Dahlgren for a meeting, I came here with my colleagues for lunch. Despite the four-star ratings, I was still a little skeptical because this restaurant is practically in the middle of nowhere, Virginia. However, once I tried some of the buffet, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was.
The butter chicken, chicken masala, aloo gobi, and vegetable pakora were all delicious. I’m a sucker for chicken masala and aloo gobi, and both these dishes here were on point. Props to the chef! Service is friendly and quick too. It’s a lot better than some of the Indian restaurants up in northern Virginia and only $10 for all-you-can-eat.
3.5 stars.

Amazing! This is a must stop while in Dahlgren or if you are passing through. I drive out of my way to eat here when traveling. They will customize the food to your taste preferences, and they take the time to make sure they know what you like/want. I love the butter chicken with a medium heat index of a 5 or so, but everyone is different. And the mango lassi drinks are a delightful beverage! =)
