I was really excited to see that our small coastal town in Maine was getting a burrito stand. The food truck is adorable, the location convenient and clean, prices are reasonable and the staff are young, friendly and provide excellent customer service… we were disappointed by the food on both occasions we tried them.

The portion sizes are fantastic. Two people can easily share a burrito or a bowl. Unfortunately, all three of the meals we ordered were extremely bland and the ratio of rice to other fillings was absurd.

My veggie burrito advertised roasted sweet potatoes, black beans, roasted corn salsa, spinach, cheese, and guacamole. I opted for the pineapple salsa they offered also. I was very excited to try this burrito. When I got my meal home, there were no roasted sweet potatoes at all, nor guacamole on it. It was mostly unseasoned generic white rice, a few pieces of baby spinach, a tiny sprinkling of cheddar cheese, black beans, a little store bought salsa and what looked like a little canned corn. The pineapple salsa was nice. My other family members meals were equally bland, so we raided our fridge for cheese, salsa, sour cream and tried to salvage the meals.

I have high hopes that after a few people give feedback on the food, Boldly-Go will take this into account, re-vamp their recipes and be everything they have the potential to be.

Service here was great. Burrito was decent, but did lack flavor. I typically go to the public house restaurant that they also own, but wanted to give the burrito place a shot. We got the Veg burrito, Chicken Burrito, and a Beef Burrito. The beef one was the best, veg second, and chicken third (chicken was dry). This place has potential if they can up the flavoring. I did like the sweet potato option in the Veg Burrito.

Wanted so much to like this place. Being part of West Branch Farm, we expected it to be slamming. Instead found it to be disappointing. The burritos were made in a way that you got each filling as you ate through it instead of being able to experience all the different flavors in each bite. The chips and guacamole which were ordered on the side were a joke! Not one whole chip in the container, all small pieces. Guacamole was a very dark color, borderline slime green. Where are your standards WBF? We will find another place to go for Mexican food.

Wish I had read the reviews first. I’ve been excited to try this super convenient and adorable food truck – and what’s more Mexican than a roadside burrito! Alas, these are not burritos but rather an ordinary bland wrap. My veggie wrap was completely void of flavor, contained fewer than 10 black beans, and cold shredded cheese as it was not grilled once assembled. I had high hopes, similar to another reviewer, but won’t be stopping here again soon. I was excited to learn that I had enough points on my account (earned at the Public House) but then unfortunately I promptly wasted them on this disappointing lunch. Atmosphere is as expected and service was excellent. The food gets 2 stars as it was prepared to order, but otherwise needs improvement. Note to owners: It would NOT be hard to infuse more flavor, even in a food truck setting! E.g., Caramelized onions, seasoned sweet potatoes, grilled peppers, some garlic in the beans)…and for goodness sake, throw that wrap on the heat to melt the cheese!! And MORE BEANS PLEASE.

I went for my third (twice last summer and once yesterday) and last meal at Boldly Go Burritos yesterday. The service was great , but the food is really disappointing. The fillings are high quality but lacking in flavor and texture. The tortillas are store-bought and not even revived in a pan. The salsa I paid extra for was straight out of a jar. Vazquez Mexican Takeout in Milbridge has in-house made tortillas and fresh salsas that they don’t charge extra for.

:Blandly-dont-go: honestly I’ve had tastier meals at granny’s nursing home.. couldn’t even eat half of the burrito, and not because it was filling. Clumpy crock pot white rice, no seasoning, no flavor, and chicken steamed in dasani water make a good meal for a four legged friend with fur, not for human consumption.

Service is decent and location is good on your way out of town, but there is no flavor here! Burrito was cold as well as most of the fillings. Everything was store bought and not reimagined in any way. Has no one heard of GOYA? Sadly, they must not read the reviews…
