No matter what time I go here and order. For the most part, I always have a good time. The food is amazing enough to say that it’s different from any other Asian restaurant I eat at. And best part it’s a good time when you’re with your friend enjoying the food and drinks. Of course the downside of this location is the parking because the area is usually busy but even then it’s worth going to this place. For the most part I had an enjoyable time eating at this place everytime and when I usually am in the area I will always choose this location.

Take it from a local, this restaurant is a true hidden gem! HIGHLY recommend! Arguably one of our top favorites in town! Best bao buns around! The dan dan noodles and tocino bowl are our weekly go-tos! Great service, flavors are on point, and they always have fun / creative / tasty specials (see pictured the carbonara and “croffle”)! Couldn’t snap all of the pictures before we dug in, but please check this place out!!

Best food in town! We’ve been eating at Bok Choy Boy since they first started doing pop-ups years ago! I like the tocilog bowl, my wife likes the crab fat rice. I especially loved their medovic cake they had awhile back!!! Wish they’d bring that back!

We had such high expectations and we were so excited to try bok choy boy after hearing raving reviews. But whoever was cooking in the back loved salt, and somehow made the fried rice inedible. (Looked like it was cooked in flaming hot Cheeto dust and the rice was red?) disappointed to say the least. My husband is Filipino and this was no where near what we were expecting. I truly don’t think this is a reflection of the owner/creator of bok choy boy, but this needs to be said.

Tocino bowl was covered in some sort of smelly mayonnaise sauce which is gross and wasn’t on the menu. Said no cilantro but it was all over the salad. After washing mayonnaise off the food was edible but nothing worth the high price. Dan noodles tasted like Italian noodles with vinegar rather than any sort of Asian dish.

I would like to give this restaurant a rating of 4.5. It’s refreshing to find variety on order apps and has something so delicious delivered directly to my home. The food is so well seasoned and very savory. I do think it is of a particular palette in terms of taste. If you have a narrow palette, the spices and flavor may not be for you. I must say that the chicken nuggets were an elevated experience for such a simple concept. I will give this restaurant a second go to explore more of the menu items.

Stopped in and tried them out on a Sunday at lunch. They update their menu frequently so it’s constantly changing. I wanted to try their special but they had sold out of it so I went with the Katsu Curry based on their recommendation. The food was great. Tons of flavor and colors with just the right amount of heat. I’ll definitely be back by to try some other things on the menu.

So delicious! I had the vegetarian/maybe vegan? Bok choy bowl and the dumplings. The bowl had perfectly cooked rice, bok choy that was just right – soft but not mushy, and was salty/sweet/sour in all the right ways. Dumplings were to die for! So flavorful and tender! Will 100% be back.

AMAZING. From the atmosphere/vibe to the service and then the FOOD. OMG the food. I visited Charleston last weekend to see some friends. I am the type of person who researches heavily on the best spots to eat and boy did I find it at Bok Choy Boy. I was expecting it to just be a restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to see a bar to the right, seating in the middle, and a cute little takeout window with a neon sign above it saying Bok Choy Boy. They have a couple of nice restrooms, a couple of foosball tables, and three awesome pinball machines in a small little private back room complete with a few booths to sit in. The waiter at the little takeout window was so sweet and when I asked for his favorites he did not disappoint. My friends and I ordered the dumplings, gochujang wings, crab fat fried rice, drunken noodles and pancit canton noodles. Everything was delicious. The crab fat fried rice and the drunken noodles were top-tier. I’m literally dreaming about those dishes back home in Atlanta. The only negative feedback I have is that I wish the wings were slightly smaller, less fatty and crispier. But the flavor was there! I really enjoyed the homemade pickles they put on the plate with the wings. We ordered some ciders and a beer from the bar and they were great as well. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. If I’m ever back in Charleston this will be my first stop to eat.
