I then requested additional BBQ sauce and made it clear that I understood there was a charge and that I was prepared to pay for it. I stated that I wanted three. The cashier responded that she was not going to charge me forty cents. When she handed me only one sauce, I asked for the remaining two. At that point, she stated she would need to charge me, to which I responded that I had already attempted to pay and was told no.
Instead of resolving the situation professionally, the cashier and another employee made comments referencing “the customer is always right,” which was said aloud and resulted in unnecessary embarrassment in front of others. This entire situation could have been avoided had proper attention been given during the order and had the interaction been handled respectfully.
I do not expect free items, special treatment, or exceptions—only basic professionalism, attentiveness, and respectful communication. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those expectations.
I cannot pick up a mobile order through the drive through, and when the app prompts for a curbside pickup space, it instructs you to call the restaurant anyways after putting in the curbside space number. They did not answer the phone 3 times, though it was rush hour.
If I had gone through the drive through, I would’ve been in and out in 5 minutes, but by trying to use the “more convenient” option, I waited nearly a half hour, and received cold food, even when I could see the drive through getting cleared more than once, and the app reported my food finished and waiting.
This is not a problem of this location, but how the app interacts with the end user and the employees on staff. Fulfillment shop be time based, exactly as drive through fulfillment works. If the app has features like curbside space input, it should work as advertised.
Poor app design lead to bad customer service. I have a feeling employees aren’t getting all the info or incentive to fulfill these orders well.
