Th music, bartenders, and vibes are great, however the bouncers are absolutely horrendous. They are extremely disrespectful to the patrons of the bar and seem to be guys who need a power trip to feel good about themselves. (Have never have so much trouble trying to use the bathroom in a bar. Ever.) Whoever was working 1/17/26 should be monitored and evaluated. That being said, still a fun place to dance if you can get past how terrible the bouncers are.

First, the neighborhood is amazing, everything from doughnuts to ice cream all within walking distance. You walk in and there is limited seating up front but if you enter the hidden door…you are greeted by a long bar with top shelf liquor, sofas and tvs everywhere.
The food was excellent, the Ranchero bowl was amazing. The tacos were very good too. And the sauces were good.
The drinks got watery pretty quickly so drink fast and they need more than one bartender during happy hour.
Overall, I will be back!

I had a very disappointing experience at Bodega while celebrating my birthday. I reserved a table and, when it came time to pay, the staff member assisting me said their card reader was not working. A second card reader was brought over, which appeared to work, and my payment went through.
After the second transaction was completed, the original card reader transaction also went through, resulting in me being charged twice. I was told I would receive a refund and that the issue would be resolved.
Unfortunately, I was only refunded half of the overcharge. After multiple attempts to follow up, communication stopped entirely. As a result, I am now out over $1,000, with no accountability or resolution from the venue.
This situation completely overshadowed what was meant to be a special occasion. I will not be returning, nor will I recommend this location to friends or consider it for any future celebrations or events.

Bodega is a consistent go to in the heart of West Loop. The hours are amazing whether lunch or late night.
I’m a big fan of the brisket quesadilla but it’s hard to miss on this menu. Find what suits you – for me it’s hard to choose just one. Had the crispy fish and asada most recently – delicious!
It’s everything you want in a taco and nothing you don’t.
Don’t take things too seriously, enjoy a taco or four, relax, and keep exploring the neighborhood.

I was invited for a private event and tried to order a margarita in the speak easy area but the bartender was very rude and refused to take my order twice when I tried to order. He said there was a private event and that is the reason why he doesn’t want to take my order. I told him I was part of the event but he was so rude and condescending that I was completely turned off. If any manager cares to look into this, it was the bartender who worked on 2/12 at 5-7pm wearing a cameo hat with the logo mamita. I was told his name is either Rico, Nico, or Zack. Either way he ruined the vibe.

Everything about this place screams “we want to be authentic but not really” lol The food was delicious but it wasn’t like grandmas cooking delicious. Great spot to go after drinks. They have like a hidden speakeasy club in the back. Didn’t see that coming when I went to the restroom.
Tacos are on the 6-8 dollar range. A bit steep for them. Overall great experience. Would I come back, yeah if was bar hopping or out clubbing.

My friend and I arrived at Bodega around 7:30 p.m. for a football watch event. At the entrance, a security guard who appeared to be Hispanic was arguing with three young women. Although the venue did not seem to be at capacity, his behavior was aggressive, unprofessional, and honestly disgusting.
We did not get involved, but the guard then turned his frustration toward us, telling us to move even though we were not in the way. When I calmly asked whether the venue was at capacity, my question was dismissed.
Security staff should ensure guests feel safe and respected. Instead, we witnessed and experienced behavior that was unacceptable. Combined with excessive pricing, service charges, and pressure to tip, the overall experience was very disappointing.

For a Friday night, happy hour until seven. It’s a pretty good value, especially given the area. Six dollar well drinks were amazing value but the tacos and the rest of the food were pretty meh although good amount of meat on the steak taco but it was literally just steak and salsa. We got five tacos, chips and guac and two well drinks for $52 with tax and tip (20% automatic restaurant surcharge).
