The service is equally impressive. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations or accommodate special requests. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a special night out. If you’re in the area, Bodega is an absolute must-visit!
I was charged $21 for a gin and tonic and $20 for a vodka tonic, plus tax and a 20% service charge, resulting in a total of $55 for two standard drinks (each with a 2-oz pour). Quite frankly, this felt excessive and unjustified, particularly given that the venue was nearly empty at the time.
These prices are comparable to those charged at major event venues such as the Miami American Airlines Arena, where guests expect premium pricing due to demand and scale. In a standalone bar environment—especially one with minimal occupancy—this pricing strategy is not only surprising but unsustainable.
Compounding the issue was the inattentive service from the bartender and the complete lack of engagement or offering, which further diminished the experience. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I can say candidly that the overall interaction made me feel less like a valued guest and more like an unwelcome tourist being overcharged.
This experience was unacceptable. I would appreciate a follow-up phone call to discuss this matter and an appropriate refund. I raise this not only as a customer, but as an industry professional who understands the importance of fair pricing, service quality, and long-term guest relationships.
I look forward to your prompt response.
I went to Bodega in Coral Gables on Friday night around 11pm and it was almost empty, probably 8 people there.
Dj playing music and a very kind bartender making drinks, but no customers.
I have been in Bodega Coconut Grove and it’s always packed during the weekend, impossible to get in.
This bar has the same type of decor of Coconut Grove; actually the hidden bar in the back of the Bodega in Coral Gables is nicer than the one in Coconut Grove.
In conclusion in my opinion, we (the people who live in Coral Gables) should visit more the restaurants and bars or they should do something different to attract people. It’s a wonderful area that should be more busy.
Why I’m giving the 5 stars? To support the business of the City and I hope this is a motivation to improve. Maybe live music, a magic show, a stand up comedy; something that attract people who live around.
Staff was friendly and gave me free sauce on the house. They must have sensed my displeasure. Thank you
The menu was great ans we cannot wait to come back to try other dishes, although the short rib burrito was just too good.
Because they were so backed up my entire $100 order was rushed and under cooked.
Taco Bell would have been way better.
Do not recommend.
Tons of other better places to eat in Coral Gables.
