I have driven by this place many times and it always intrigued me so it was cool that this place was our lunch spot today. I was delighted at how cute this joint is! The pretty chandeliers. Our beautiful American flag represented. The cute wall art created by the young patrons that is displayed by the front door. It has a great country shabby look to it and I love it.
I was sat at a booth while I waited for my friend to show up. I already knew what I was having for lunch but I breezed through the menu to see what other options they had. The ribs and tri tip will have to be ordered at my next visit, I was sold on the wings to change it to something else.
My friend finally showed up. We got drinks started while he breezed over the menu real quick. He knew what he wanted, we were ready to eat! We ordered the large wings since he wanted them as an appetizer and I was planning on having the other half for my meal. I also got a side of beans and onion rings to go along with my wings.
Ya…. their wings here are legit good! They are so flavorful. The exterior of the wing is slightly crispy. The coloring of these wings is a clear indication that they are going to be a flavor explosion. The chicken was tender and juicy. You can dip them babies in ranch or blue cheese and it’s delicious. I was worried that my half wasn’t going to be enough but it was! These wings are big. I’m ready for another round as I’m writing this! The onions rings were hot, fresh and golden. You get a few rings but it is a smaller portion. The baked beans were good but I probably won’t order them again. It’s cool I got to try them out.
I’m happy that we came here today. It has peaked my curiosity for many years and now I know how fantastic it is. The wings are the business and I’m ready to come back for some more. The food was great today. Service was nice. Venue is cute. And I got to support a local business in my area. I look forward to coming back sooner than later.
Today, I had a lunch meeting at Bodacious Pig Barbecue, and we were determined to get there despite the construction on Old State Street.
The road work is a bit of a mess, but it’s a small price to pay to support a local business that has been an Eagle staple since 2013.
The restaurant, located directly in the heart of the construction zone in front of the Old State Saloon, is a prime example of a business persevering through difficult times.
Stepping inside, the aroma of slow-smoked barbecue instantly makes you forget the detours and road closures outside.
We wanted to show our support and encourage others to do the same.
If you’re deciding where to eat this week or weekend, please make the effort to visit them.
A little bit of effort on our part goes a long way in supporting the local businesses that make Eagle great.
Upon entering, you’re greeted by the warm scent of slow-smoked brisket and ribs, instantly setting the tone for the experience that awaits. The decor is charming creating a cozy environment perfect for family outings or casual dinners with friends.
The menu offers an impressive selection of BBQ staples, from tender pulled pork to juicy smoked sausages. I opted for the combo platter, which included brisket, ribs, and chicken. Each meat was cooked to perfection–moist and bursting with flavor. The brisket had the perfect smoke ring, while the ribs practically fell off the bone, coated in a deliciously tangy house-made sauce.
Speaking of sauce, Bodacious offers a variety of options, ranging from sweet to spicy, allowing you to customize your meal just the way you like it. Their homemade coleslaw and potato salad were the ideal sides, complementing the rich flavors of the BBQ.
