Bocce Club Pizza

  4.1 – 2 reviews  $ • Pizza restaurant

Upon returning from WWII my Dad, Dino Pacciotti, started working at the Bocce Club on Hickory St in Buffalo. The club had bocce ball courts in the yard and served drinks & sandwiches inside. In 1946, Mr. Pacciotti seized the opportunity to purchase the club. He soon found an old pizza oven in the basement and started experimenting. He formulated his own unique pizza recipe and Bocce Club Pizza was born. In 1959, Dino moved into the Bailey Ave location in Amherst, seeing the proximity to UB South campus as a big positive. In 1988, our Hopkins Rd location in Williamsville opened, not far from UB North campus.

Long-standing mainstay offering traditional, specialty & gluten-free pizza pies & slices.

We live in Ohio, but we always go to Bocce Club for pizza when we are in town. We just had pizza over the weekend, and it was delicious as always! Thank you for over 45 years of great service. I grew up going to the Clinton Street location and was always treated with so much respect and kindness.

I recently tried Bocce’s Club Pizza’s Whole Cheese Pizza with Pepperoni and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The pizza itself was pretty decent, nothing amazing and I wouldn’t go out of my way to get this again.

Pizza was not as good as it once was . Quality and consistency is poor to just okay . Other pizza places seem to have much better consistency with final product. Pizza is not cheap today and consistency and quality is important to people. Why take the chance ? Have heard this from many people, just not happy with quality and consistency.

The pizza and wings were undercooked. When we ordered we requested that the pizza be cooked on the well-done side and the wings 25 med crispy and 25 BBQ Xtra char from the pit. What we got was a pizza with raw dough in the center and the wings were rubbery. But they were packed with people sitting and eating and a line of cars waiting for their orders. So were they just overwhelmed or just don’t care and get the pizza and wing orders out the door. This isn’t the first time our orders have been up to par but this order was the worst

Excellent pizza: cheese, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers and half banana pepper. Cooked just right! Our friend from Georgia had Bocces for the first time ever and said it’s the best he’s ever had! The person that took our order was polite, the guy behind the counter was great!! Awesome all the way around

I ordered a quarter pizza, which turned out to be dry, with a burnt crust and very little sauce. When I called the next day to say that the pizza I got was not very good, the person who answered said she’d tell the manager. She didn’t ask what was wrong, or any questions at all, nor did she offer an apology or compensation. I told her that I hadn’t had Bocce pizza, which I recall as being very good, in many years and I was really looking forward to it. I told her that I was disappointed and wouldn’t order from there again. Her advice was that the next time this happens (huh?? Didn’t I just say there would not be a next time?) I should call the same night and “we could do more for you.” Guess the customer service is on a par with the pizza. What a shame.

Best pizza in town, in person. Their online portal is not customer service friendly at all. I also bought merchandise for my uncle in town. Now I understand you get what you pay for but my boys at bocce literally put a sticker on a hat. Lol. A sticker. Their website makes it look embroidered. I also bought myself a hoodie that falsely had advertised logos both front and back. Only a small front font was made on my order. I made the mistake of supporting. Do better bocce. Cmon now.

What an incredible disappointment to see a Buffalo institution go DOWN THE DRAIN. We’e tried both delivery and pickup. Obviously, something has changed, someone left. Because, whoever is running this doesn’t have the faintest clue. Delivery is hours late – cold – mashed into the box. Pickup is a train-wreck – line out the door, no one at the counter seems to know what’s going on. I even heard them saying that orders were coming out of the kitchen completely wrong. Do yourself a favor and order from somewhere else.

Usually Bocce is on point! But I don’t know what’s been going on recently. The cook that had my order was horrible. The was extremely terrible…it was supposed to be the basic cheese/pepperoni option….but like where was the peps?? And the chicken wings…I had ordered mild and medium…I swear they were both mild and not saucy and not thoroughly cooked. Hopefully they’ll improve soon to keep my business!
