I’m going to preface this with a statement. I take no pleasure in writing a review like this, but based on my experience in the industry I’m hoping this place can put this to good use. I don’t want anything, I don’t want to free meal, I don’t want gift cards.
We had high hopes based on social media presence and pictures online. Upon arrival the service was welcoming, the atmosphere was pleasant, and that is pretty much where it stopped… The food was really, really disappointing. Aside from the ceviche, which was ok, the meal was essentially money in the garbage. Got the $95 Parrilla and the sad truth of the matter is the french fries with cheese and bacon on them were the best thing on the platter. We ordered the ribeye medium, and it was raw. So raw that none of the fat had been rendered at all. The morcilla was devoid of any solid filling and wet inside. The chicken was without seasoning and dry. The chorizo was blah at best, and the corn on the cob was ice cold. Like stone, dead, freezing cold. Even the fried yuca was poorly prepared, old maybe? Sitting around under a heat lamp?
We had hopes for maybe the avocado half to be palatable, but it was as hard as a rock. High marks for the chimichurri sauce… So there’s that.
The server gave us a discount when we were asked how dinner was. Definitely was not looking for a discount, we were just being honest when asked if everything was great. Although I appreciate the gesture, it is highly unlikely we will return. Extremely disappointing.
We took what remained in a carryout bag, but decided to throw it away as we were walking because we had no intent to eat it.

We celebrated our child’s birthday at Bocas and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. A special thank you to Jose – he was amazing and they give birthday milkshake for our child. We really appreciated the warm, friendly atmosphere and will definitely come back again!

I have been wanting to go to this place since they opened and finally got the chance. My friends order was juicy, fresh, and flavorful. My order, the chicken breast entree, was unfortunately pretty plain without any garnishings – I didn’t bother with a pic of it. Had my waiter, Jose, been a little bit more attentive I think I would have chosen a better option. It seems he did not have patience enough for my questions on the menu, even walked away without a word to attend to another group and seat people coming in – it was obvious he forgot about us before we could actually place our order. He didn’t get my order right, then forgot to bring my friend his salad, we felt like an after thought the whole time really. We called another waitress to help bring some chimichurri that was forgotten – I dont know how she heard what I needed because she walked away before I was even done talking. Very, very odd behavior. I most likely would not return because of this. They also skimp you on the portion sizes, small amounts of rice and beans etc, with only meat left over when you’re done.

I had a great experience at Bocas House! The food was absolutely delicious—everything came out fresh, flavorful, and well presented. You can really tell they put care into their dishes.
Our server, Alejandro, made the experience even better. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. His service was excellent and really added to the overall atmosphere.

Restaurant Atmosphere is a nice decorated place and music at great level, Service could improve waiter was Jose satisfying. Food; Pabellón, Rice Octopus and Tallarín . De Lomo Saltado flavors right on! Dessert Flan and Nutella Milk shake was outstanding, Restaurant is Recommended, menu has multiple options and great desserts.
