We spent a total of 2 hours and 20 minutes for just ordering two apps and two entrees. Majority of that time was waiting. Averaging 30 minutes after ordering, waiting for apps and entrees.
Our server was nice and professional, but not one time did they acknowledge the long wait. I understand it was a holiday, but there was a 6 top that was seated next to us after one hour of being seated. The 6 top received their entrees and desserts within just one hour!
Food was okay, nothing wow about it. The Sicilian Calamari was 50% fried calamari and 50% fried batter bits. The short ribs entree had overpowering garlic flavor and salty. It was delivered with a film over the bordelaise sauce, maybe it was sitting out for a bit. It came with three small pieces of short ribs on top a massive mountain of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes had tons of garlic in it, I even bit into an undercooked garlic clove. The bordelaise sauce was just salty.
We thought about getting dessert, but didn’t want to wait anymore.
When she came for drink orders, we asked if they had a sparkling rosé available. She confirmed they did, so we placed our order. However, when our drinks arrived, we each received a flat (still) rosé instead. More concerning, my wife’s glass had visible residue floating in it and stuck to the sides of the glass.
We brought this to our server’s attention. She apologized and replaced our drinks with Prosecco (they do not offer a sparkling rosé by the glass). However, at the end of the meal, we were charged for the rosé we never ordered—which was $4 per glass more expensive than what we actually drank. This should have been corrected automatically given the mistake, but it wasn’t. I didn’t want to hold up our evening by disputing the charge, but this felt like a service recovery failure.
On the positive side, the food was good! We enjoyed our meal and appreciated that they could accommodate us as walk-ins. The kitchen delivered, but the bar service and billing need attention. We’re willing to give them another chance, but we’re not going out of our way to do so. If we happen to be in the area, we might stop by again for the food…
Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had, amazing service. I’d give them 100 stars if I could
Worst Italian food we ever ordered
Salmon on risotto
Good sized but not visually or tastefully appealing
With a tomatoe sauce that was full of semi cooked lumps of whole small peeled tomatoes and then it seemed to have pesto sauce drizzled on top of lots of our dishes.
Ravioli was delivered cold
It was flat and had little ricotta filling
I highly doubt house made or you would have tasted the cheese filling – flat pasta overcooked and empty with that unappealing sauce and squirted pesto. If it was a meat sauce or had a meat ball at least it might have had some flavor and texture other than tomatoes.
Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes.
They had a pork tenderloin that sounded good but it was paired with something that was inappropriate as was the chicken limonde the pairing was unappealing I think it was ravioli but we didn’t order that we saw it as it was delivered to another customer
and their was a salad that was made a few hours before being served cause it was warm and just not up to par – no chick peas or croutons a blah dressing.
Highly disappointing overpriced meal
The small Italian dinner rolls and butter that had a hint of garlic to it was the best they had to offer
This was my first time there, along with my husband, so we weren’t sure what to expect. He had the chicken parmigiana and loved it. I had the braised short ribs which was good but I wouldn’t get it again. We also shared an appetizer of their unique spin on bruschetta but I’ve never been a fan of bleu cheese and it had a very potent smell for me, at least. Everyone else enjoyed it. We also all shared our desserts and while I’m a huge fan of tiramisu, their carrot cake was phenomenal.
