Did tasted great, generous portions. Nice little shop, they made room for our party of 6.
I would have given 5 stars if it was not for few fruit flys zooming around all dinner.

A Brookline Gem with Fantastic Flavors!
I’m so glad I discovered Boca Grande Taqueria in Brookline Village! It’s my favorite spot for a quick, delicious, and satisfying meal.
The place has a no-frills, casual atmosphere, and the staff is always friendly and fast, even during the busy lunch rush. You order at the counter and can watch your food being made with a great selection of fresh meats and vegetables. The portions are generous and offer great value for the price (typically in the $10-$20 range).
The food is fantastic. I highly recommend the Lemon Chicken Burrito or a Burrito Bowl; the meat is flavorful and juicy, and they don’t skimp on the fillings. Unlike some competitors, the ingredients taste fresh, and the flavors are well-balanced. Their tamales are also delicious and a rare find in the area.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite to eat or sitting in their small seating area, Boca Grande consistently delivers on quality and taste. It’s a must-visit for anyone in Brookline looking for excellent Mexican food!

This is our favorite burrito in the area. The fillings are fresh, flavorful. I like veggies and family members love lemon chicken. It would be great if you could request half tofu with half veggie filling but this place is great. Add guac and/or for a small extra charge. Brookline location has longer/wider opening hours.

I had a barbacoa wet burrito for dinner here. The place was mostly empty, but I was eating kind of late. It’s not fancy inside, but the service was friendly. As for the burrito, it was good. I think the barbacoa I make at home may be a smidge better than here, but that’s not to say this was anything but good. Also worth noting that this a rare $20-ish dinner in this neighborhood of upscale restaurants.

I ate a burrito bowl from here, hours later I started feeling very ill. I have developed the absolute worsssse food poisoning from here and haven’t recovered for almost a week ! Stomach ache, nausea vomitting , all from food poisoning. I didn’t bother calling to let the restaurant know because they are not going to be sympathetic or acknowledge it ! I’m not the first probably won’t be the last to get food poisoning from here. I should’ve stopped going here when they were so rude to me by mistakenly mixing up the type of meat I requested. (I don’t eat pork)
anyways I would not recommend this place. The customer service isn’t the best especially the lady at the register.

one of the most disappointing burrito bowls in boston. there was only one flavor throughout the entire bowl. and honestly i should have left when i saw the ingredients, so honestly my fault!

I got a burrito here. It was super drippy, lacked flavor and fell apart easily. The barbacoa was good but that’s about all it had going for it. I asked for vegetables in the burrito thinking it was included. Then they rang me up and charged an extra $2. When I inquired about the charge they pointed to the add-on menu, which didn’t mention vegetables. I much rather would have paid extra for guac instead. Even the green salsa seemed watered down. I won’t be going back here.

Ate lunch here today. Hate giving a 1-star reviews but while it was clean, that was sadly all Boca Grande had going for it. No smiles or greetings and only frowns ruled the faces of all 3 employees working. I asked for hot sauce (even en español) and was not told but “pointed” towards a shelf on the wall with bottled sauces—even after I repeated twice I was asking for a homemade hot sauce like nearly every other taco joint in the world from Boston to San Diego and beyond, she pointed with a frown.
To my food: Despite being there at prime time, my enchiladas were curiously heated in front of my eyes in the microwave (yuck!!), mole sauce was running, food (not surprisingly considering the microwave) didn’t taste good and chicken was rubbery and despite the microwave, cheese didn’t fully melt. I suspect the chicken may have been sitting some time or even an earlier day?
On top of below average taste, I got a stomach ache 30 minutes later and it’s been with me almost 10 hours later. Save your time, money, health, and stomach pain and go elsewhere.

Decent Mexican food for how quick service is. The price isn’t bad either. I’d return to try their tamales. I really liked the carnitas and their guacamole was good too.
