Friendly, quaint diner in the Manchester area of Vermont. We came here as part of a large group, which was difficult to seat all of us at one table. That said, the staff helped us get a few benches outside all near each other so we could chat with one another.

In terms of dishes, the theme is very much American diner. Eggs, pancakes, toast, sausage, and hash made in the classic manner. In terms of lunch items, there seemed to be more variety, with some specials for dessert. Coffee, orange juice, and other fruit juices were there for drinks. The sausages, pancakes, and vegetables for eggs in skillets were good. The coffee was too light to really be strong in any way.

The service, though friendly, was a bit on the slower side. The rest of the diner was full, so it was difficult to get dishes and drinks quickly. When the checks came, it was slightly moderate for the area (an expensive part of the state). The atmosphere gives a slightly cozy feel, but the quality of the food is what you see in front of you.

Nestled in the beautiful nature of Manchester. The entrance is welcoming and diner is very cozy. French toast was crispy on the outside soft on the inside and paired really well with the Vermont maple syrup. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and also paired well with the syrup. Eggs were made fresh. Coffee is excellent here. Perfect brew

So this was an unexpected find. An unassuming diner with a poor external appearance. But that’s okay I’m not interested in appearances – I’m interested in food (at least for breakfast).

And the food was great. Very healthy portions, great taste and locally sourced food. The pancakes were as big as a dinner plate. The omelet alone was more than I could eat. We both left with take out boxes contain enough for a second meal.

I’m not a coffee snob but I am kind of a super taster and the coffee was really good. Not the burnt Starbucks taste Cherished by the favored few (I guess I’m one of the unwashed), But good down Home coffee with just enough body and a bite to make it work.

Bob’s offered Breads including sour dough and raisin bread from a local bakery, As well as Vermont cheese and Vermont Maple syrup.

On top of that: for those in the vegan crowd, they had several vegan options on both the breakfast and lunch menus.

We left with our taste buds Titilllated, our appetites sated, and our breakfast expectations elevated.

Come to think of it this place may have spoiled me for breakfast…. maybe I shouldn’t have come after all….

I nonetheless recommend it to others.

Thank you Bob for a great breakfast.

Great diner experience. The building looks like an old school diner and has that old school feel. It is family owned with the son doing the cooking. The waitress we had, Leslie could not be friendlier. Everything we had was great. I had eggs and the home made corned beef hash which was outstanding. A side order of pancakes with syrup and home made whipped cream was a great way to finish a great breakfast. If in the Manchester area it is a must visit.

Classic diner with tons of character

We brought our dog and sat outside no problem. The server was so kind and brought our water for our dog too!

Food was delicious

It’s the quintessential diner experience. Cheap, local homemade ingredients and kitchy decorations. Worth a visit!

The corn beef hash is a standout and made locally with nice stringy pieces of beef.

What a fantastic restaurant! The food was awesome – I ordered the turkey club sandwich with gluten-free bread, and it was fantastic! My daughter had a cheeseburger and she loved it! Our waitress, Hannah H, was friendly and attentive! I’ll definitely be eating here again!

Popped into Bobs Diner for breakfast yesterday. Waitstaff were happy and accommodating. And food was AMAZING. BF ordered his meaty foods, and I ordered my vegetarian friendly veggie frittata with no onions. (And they remembered no onions!), sourdough toast (omg so good) and home fries (simple and delicious). The frittata was one of the best I’ve had. Coffee good, too. Wish they were local to me! Prices fair, too. Highly recommend!! 🙂

We had the egg Norway, the vegan bowl, Carol’s Club, butter milk pancakes with blueberries and the pie of the day – blueberry pie.

The food was all good. I especially liked the pancakes and the blueberry pie. It was very fresh and tasty.

The hot chocolate was not that great. It tasted like the Swiss miss hot chocolate mixture.
