Bobby’s Bar-B-Q was established in 1985 by Bobby Sr. and Barbara. Now, more than 30 years later, Bobby Jr. is carrying on the family tradition of Southern-style Bar-B-Q in a charming, casual atmosphere. Bobby’s Bar-B-Q owes its success to its mouth-watering, hickory smoked Bar-B-Q and to the continued support of its patrons throughout the decades.

We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and finally drove 35 mins from Augusta to eat and was really looking forward to it, only to be severely disappointed! You could tell the food had been sitting for a long time, it was over cooked and stone cold! When I say cold it was COLD!! The cook came out and wanted to know what was cold? EVERYTHING! Than, she asked my husband what he was eating? Like, lady, you don’t know!? You cooked it! I was just ready to get a refund and leave! But the manager didn’t even come out to apologize or offer a refund! So when the waitress came back, I said would you ask the manager to come here, so I could ask for a refund? You could clearly see, she was scared too ask! Needless to say, the manger wouldn’t come over, and only refunded one buffet, which was 17.00. I was just done and got the heck out of there! UNLESS YOU WANT THE NASTIEST BBQ AND FOOD, THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU! BUT, IF I WERE YOU, AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! IT IS HORRIBLE!!! IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 STARS, I WOULD!

Waitress was nice. There is a U-shaped buffet with only one side open and they expect you to reach over (on top of) the food to reach to the other side and not go around. If you do, you will get yelled at, and reaching over food is incredibly unsanitary. You cannot go to the middle of the “U” to get to the other side. Food looked like it had sat out for ages, beans had films over them. $16 per person, not including drinks, for maybe 12 options to add to your plate is ridiculous.

Nice BBQ Buffet with optional ribs for an additional price. There were lots of options to choose from, and everything tasted fresh. Three sauce options are available, and they all seemed to be mustard based. Cute country atmosphere in a huge log building. Overall, a nice buffet meal.

My first time and most likely my last time unfortunately. The staff were great and friendly. The issue is the price vs what you get for it. I don’t understand how Bobby’s has Duke’s prices but not Duke’s quality and quantity.

We stopped by for dinner on the way from Aiken to Augusta. They close relatively early in the evening so don’t plan to come here at 9 or 10pm. They have a decent variety of buffet options. Their hash is is great. When we came there were about 5 or 6 varieties of meat, including ribs, baked and fried chicken, pulled pork, pulled chicken and shredded pork. The sauce at all the tables is a Carolina based vinegar style, so if you want something a bit more tomato based, you’ll have to request it. The rice is a little bland (which is why you cover it in hash), but the overall quality of the food is pretty good. It’s not the best BBQ I’ve had, but it’s good homestyle cooking and you can get your fill. The price is reasonable, at about 10 dollars a plate, but you can’t take any with you. My wife says the slaw is okay, the corn on the cob is great but most of the vegetables seem to have come from a can.
The bathrooms could probably stand to use a bit of renovating, but there is plenty of space in the building. Lots of space for what seems like parties and gatherings. Also, exposed wood almost everywhere, so it has a nice rustic homey feel. Would recommend, and we’ll probably come back again.

Buffets can be hit or miss, but today it was hittin. The cabbage was on point and so were the green beans and macaroni. If you’re passing through and are hungry this is definitely going to be worth stopping in.

Nope nope nope. Keep driving. Buffet BBQ sounds great. Until you walk in and spend $70 for 4 people for dried up heat lamp chicken and nothing but no flavored BBQ sides. This place should be shut down. The waitress had her child of maybe four running around. It was cute but listennnn you can’t call it a BBQ buffet and cant even do chicken right! Have some options, like sausage, even. It’s really sad because this could’ve been a cool joint.
Add more meat to the “buffet” and get some quality cooking going. I forgot to mention they had “pulled pork” that wasn’t sauced, dry, and stiff. Saturday night and there were only three people here, should’ve been obvious. Very disappointed y’all. Don’t recommend anything.

I would have given this place 2 stars if it would’ve had banana pudding and peach cobbler left. But what was left is the juice on the sides with no pudding or cobbler. If you’re gonna be a buffet you’ve gotta at least change the old crap out for new stuff. Super hard fried okra that looked like it been there all day.. overall I should’ve took the comments in consideration, but oh well, now I know..

I was driving by on my way from Aiken to Augusta and saw the BBQ sign. I stopped in and was greeted right away. The cashier explained the dining process and off I went . In general, the selection and quality was good. A couple of different pulled pork flavors, a couple of chicken choices, a good selection of veggies and cold salads. I tried a little of everything and couldn’t find fault with any of it. All the food was hot. For dessert, sliced bananas between Nilla Wafers and covered with vanilla pudding was a first for me. I had to go back for seconds. Everyone that worked there seemed genuine and answered all my questions. The place was clean and well kept. Was it the BEST food I ever had? No, but I’ve eaten at more than 1,000 places around the world. However, it’s very good food for the price. I came expecting down home cooking and that’s what I received. I would have given 5 stars if actual plates and dinner ware were used. If I’m ever passing by, again, I would stop.
