I stopped by for a cheeseburger review. The burger was ok. Friendly atmosphere. Packed house at lunch time. Check out my video review on the cheeseburger. Bama Burger Reviews on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.

We were really looking forward to eating here again after so many years, but unfortunately, the food quality has gone downhill compared to what it used to be. We stopped in while visiting family and decided to order a chicken and turkey platter along with another chicken platter. The portions looked fine, but the flavor and texture were disappointing. The chicken was dry and lacked seasoning, and the turkey tasted more like it had been baked in an oven rather than slow-smoked the way it used to be.
It’s always disappointing when a place that once had great food loses its touch. The service was fine and the restaurant was clean, but the food just didn’t deliver. We left feeling let down and probably won’t be back unless things improve. Hopefully, management takes notice and brings back the quality that made this place special years ago.

I come from a bbq restaurant family. In Boston, Ma. My hard learned clues are, if there is a line or full parking lot and most of all if you can smell it before you see the actual restaurant. I saw the sign and still didn’t smell it. But lot was full and a line at the drive thru. So I went in to find, pictures below. A smoker pit is a solid positive. Still on alert I ordered 2 bones to see what I would taste before I spent $30 on a disappointing slab. NOT. DISSAPOINTED. I ended up getting $46 worth of food with perfect potions for that amount. I’d want better vegetable selections. But I came in for the Q. And that was worth a rerun trip

I had the chopped chicken plate coleslaw and baked beans. I also got the Strawberry shortcake. Good exceeded my expectations. The chicken was good with the BBQ sauce. Slaw and beans were excellent. The portion was big enough for my lunch and dinner. The strawberry shortcake was the best I’ve had in years. It comes with a cup of strawberry drizzle either real strawberries. PERFECT!!!!

We visited Bob Skyes Bar B Que and opted for the drive-thru since the dine-in area was closed. Luckily, the drive-thru stays open a bit later. Even though we didn’t dine inside, the hospitality was outstanding. The staff was very kind and politely informed us about the dine-in closure while directing us to the drive-thru.
I ordered the barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, beans, and coleslaw, while my partner chose the ribs, mashed potatoes, and candied yams.
Overall, it was a great experience!

I honestly love eating at there. Even when I thought the prices were way to much you always got more than enough food. But tonight that didnt happen with part of our order. Had a pick up order through the drive through. 2 open face works.

I was rolling through my hometown and stopped by for a meal. It’s great to see nothing has changed. Smokey, delicious pork inside/outside chopped sandwich – tender, and not dry like some places. Baked beans. And a slice of lemon icebox pie – so home style!

First let me start off by saying that I know everyone has their favorite bbq spot, and this is mine. When you pull in the parking lot it hits you. Great old-school bbq restaurant where you walk by the pit when you go in. The whole place smells like bbq. They don’t have the typical thick, sweet, sticky sauce and not a thin, vinegar Carolina style sauce. Somewhere in the middle. All I know is that it goes great on chopped pork. Over the last 30 years I’ve tried just about everything on the menu and I keep going back to the bbq sandwiches and onion rings, not that the rest of the menu isn’t good. I just know what I like!
All the so-called great bbq places in Memphis need to come down and have
Bob Sykes show them how it’s done.
