Bob Evans may be a national chain, but to me this local Port Charlotte Mall location is a small business. I feel like I’m back up north at a diner each visit. I see the same staffers working hard day in and day out. Snowboard season is not in effect yet so it’s slow please go in and support your local business. The staff is awesome. First time to bob Evans in over 10 years. We are down from Indiana for first snowbird trip. Great service, food was solid good good good. bacon good, pancakes good, egges over easy perfect. coffee ok, just standard. hash browns excellent. all better than cracker barrel which is where we have been eating for 10 years. we are done with cracker barrel. Restaurant was clean and tables were clean. Lots of light from windows and everyone was friendly and clean and COMPETENT. We are still in shock really as we are getting used to incompetent employees at restaurants. Well done Bob Evans.

We like the part where you can choose from. An assortment of items, 2 items, and they’re good choices. I forget the name of it. We also enjoy meals there with our friends and we could hear each other communicate at the table across from each other. In other words , the restaurant wasn’t so noisy that we couldn’t visit and have a nice time with friends. Instead , we could visit and have a nice time.

I don’t know where you can find breakfast for $5.99 anywhere again, but I found it here and it was absolutely delicious! I had their mini plate sampler since I’m a little eater. It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Bob Evan’s, and I just had to come here for their pumpkin loaf and breakfast. They also sell an amazing chicken noodle soup made from scratch ( the homemade noddles is out of this world and I get it in a pint size to go). Everything on my plate accompanied by bottomless freshly brewed coffee was under $10. Their biscuits are pillowy and accompanied by whipped butter and jelly. On my way out I had to pick up a pumpkin loaf, it is the first purchase for me, I always get their banana bread to go. The place is clean and the flavors of their pastries and pies just emanates and your senses go wild. They have so much variety for coffees as well, but I went with the basic. Lovely staff as well, can’t wait to be back!

I ordered the “Country Farm Steak and Farm Fresh Eggs” meal from Bob Evans through DoorDash. When I received it, both the steak and the potatoes had a strong bitter taste — almost like they were burnt or cooked in old oil. It made the meal hard to eat and disappointing. If I could give Zero stars I would. I hope it was not rotten or too old and don’t give me food poisoning

Update: We went today with our son for lunch. This was the first time we’ve gone to Bob Evans for lunch and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent! Service by Julia was outstanding! 10 out of 10. Hi and see for yourself! ****My wife and I visited the Bob Evans Restaurant on El Jobean this morning. First time there. We were very pleased with the location and with the cleanliness and layout of the building. It was easy to find parking and easy to walk in and be seated. Once in, we were greeted by one of the staff and led to a table and asked if we wanted something to drink. We opted for coffee. The wait person gave us a menu before going to get our coffees. We were excited about the menu options and the prices. There was a great variety at a very reasonable cost. When they came back with our coffee, I ordered the Big Egg Breakfast, which was 3 eggs, I opted for sausage patties as did my wife, who ordered a stack of 4 buttermilk pancakes. We did not wait long at all and the food came out hot and well prepared. My wife raved about the pancakes and my meal was outstanding as well. Both of us really enjoyed our meal and the friendliness of the staff. We definitely will be back again soon! If you are in the area and are looking for a SOLID place to have a good meal at a reasonable price, I would recommend that you check out Bob Evans! You will not be disappointed!
Update: My wife and I went to the Bob Evans at 1050 El Jobean Rd, Port Charlotte, for Dinner tonight and we were very pleased. When we arrived we were seated and given menus and asked if we wanted any drinks. Our server, Julia, was friendly and attentive and allowed us time to make up our minds after she brought our drinks. I noticed that there were more people coming in, but the place was quiet and spacious. It was clean and bright and there were no smells to detract. The decor was obviously mid-America and with Bon Evans hailing from Ohio, it made the state proud.
Our food arrived not long after we ordered and it was fantastic. I ordered the Cod with Coleslaw and Corn and my wife ordered the Chicken and biscuits. By the way, my wife LOVES the biscuits! Julia brought 2 complementary biscuits to both of us and they were indeed tasty.
This was the first time we were there for dinner. The other 2 times we were there were for breakfast and lunch. All 3 times the food was consistently good and the service was excellent.
One Note. Our server was Julia and when I went up to pay, I left a healthy tip and asked for a receipt. However, when I got the receipt home and looked at it, it said that our server was Paul. I am not sure if the tip was credited to the right server. I will ask the next time I I am there. It just placed a question mark on the evening. It does not detract from the food nor the service.

There was a small mix-up with my Bob Evans carryout order, but Kevin handled it with such kindness and professionalism. Knowing how busy it is the day before Thanksgiving, I truly appreciated his patience and accommodating attitude while making sure everything was corrected. His excellent customer service made the experience a positive one despite the hiccup.

I recently ordered the takeout holiday meal for people. I ordered online with a pickup at 1:30 p.m. I arrived at 1:45. I have never been there before so I went up to the cash register and asked for my meal. They had trouble finding me in the computer and then they asked me if I ordered online and I said yes. Then they found me in the computer and they asked me to have a seat and they said it would be 8 minutes before it was ready. So I sat down. And I waited a lot more than 8 minutes until I noticed some other girl go and pick up her meal from the takeout shelf which I couldn’t see from where I was sitting. So I went over and sure enough my meal have been sitting there the entire time. So I finally told them that my meal had been sitting there they didn’t need to be prepping another one. So I took that one to the car and I checked it just in case. And sure enough it was missing the corn and the green beans with ham. So they did furnish those. We went home and warmed everything up. All the food was really good except for the green beans and ham. They were too salty to eat. They were fully staffed and had people just standing around with nothing to do so it wasn’t a lack of employees. Just a very disorganized place.

It wasn’t the best breakfast I ever had. I hope the kitchen crew makes things look like the menu pictures in the future. The coffee was great. The service was excellent.
