Visited Saturday, January 31, 2026. This was not a great experience overall. While it was moderately busy, it wasn’t super busy. Servers switched out about fifteen minutes into our seating. Coffee was slow, especially refills.

The omelet I ordered was the worst omelet I’ve not only tasted, but that I’ve ever seen visually. It was broken into a bunch of pieces, and a ton of half melted cheddar cheese was thrown on top. There was more cheese than egg. (this was not a skillet).

I set it aside, and the server asked how the omelet was, and I told her it wasn’t very good. The onions were not good, and the way it was presented was weird too. It looked like someone cut it up for a child. The waitress even said “I wondered about that and I asked the cook if it was right”. (why did you bring me such a questionable dish then? It looked so bad).

She removed it from the bill without me asking, which was nice. My party all seemed to enjoy their food for the most part.

I don’t think I would return here after this meal. It’s one thing to have a bad tasting meal, but this was made poorly, looked bad, tasted bad, and it shouldn’t have been served in the first place, based on how cut up it was.

I’ve came here twice and both times the food was a 10/10!!! Service was okay, the waiter and the waitress were both friendly with good personalities! I will be going here again soon 🙂

Food was good. Service was above and beyond and atmosphere was okay. Better then most other bobevans I wish they would get the hot bacon salad dressing back. That was yummy

We went for brunch for my daughter’s birthday. We had great service from Gracie. The food was great. My birthday girl loved her piggy pancakes.

My 83-year old dad and I go out every Thursday and every so often we review restaurants for our Facebook pages. We are by no means real connoisseurs or restaurant critics, and we do this for fun as just a thing for us to connect and we’re humbled that people seem to like it on our page. On the days were not doing reviews, We meet at Bob Evans In Coldwater to catch up. So, we eat here a lot. It occurred to us. We never reviewed this place, and it really deserves one.

The staff here is tremendous. You’d think they’d run and hide when they see my Dad walk in (he thinks he’s funny), but nope they light up like it’s the best part of their day. They know his table, they know his order, and when I stopped in a few weeks ago without him, they asked about him and said they’d been worried because they hadn’t seen him lately.

It’s very Cheers like. Dad walks in, and it’s basically:
“Daaaaaavid!”

Tonight I had the Farmer’s Choice Breakfast, and Dad went with the Cranberry Pecan Salad. Both meals were great…. fresh, fast, and exactly what we’ve come to expect.

In short: super solid food, fantastic service, friendly atmosphere, and genuinely kind people. Exactly why we keep going back week after week.

Oh, we also learned that Bob Evans was a real person. He started his business because he couldn’t find any good sausage and started making his own and selling it out of his truck. He was a real life farmer. Bob started his restaurant chain in Rio Grande, Ohio. He died at the age of 89 in 2007 (so don’t ask if you can talk to him when visiting the restaurant).

Great food. The double cheese pot roast sandwich was fantastic. The cranberry pecan grilled chicken salad was also very good.

The hostess seemed bothered that we were there – the waitress was decent but not very attentive – the wait for our food was extremely long. There are several dirty tables that have remained unclean for the entirety of our visit. The morning service is usually much better, though.

Terrible experience. First I didn’t get what I had ordered and our French toast was still wet with egg and hardly anything more than raw egg bread. The hash browns were greasy and soggy with tiny portions. The French toast was flipped over on the good side like they didn’t think we would notice. I realize that prices are going up but at least make sure the food is decent quality to make up for it, it’s the least you can do. Probably will be our last time dining at bob evans. We got nothing more than a simple “sorry”, no deduction from the bill or anything.

My Daughter and I went into Bib Evans. We ordered 2 chicken strip meals we didn’t eat or care for their thick chicken strip want the thinner ones back. But service was amazing the waitress made it right and was so kind to us hardly ever get that kind of service around here! Our dogs though enjoyed the chicken strip! We were embarrassed trying to explain how we dont like thick chicken strip so left a little embarrassed. I wish we always had that kindness going to other places! Thank you so much didn’t catch her name.
