Reviews
Almost every time, without fail, My family and I walk in and immediately feel that we do not belong. Wait staff will make it known that they do not want us to dine with them. I have heard on multiple occasions, when waiting to be seated, waitresses outright stating that they do not want to take our table since we have a large party. I can understand how stressful large parties can be, but it feels more that they are judging the outcome more than giving us a chance. And at some point, you are working there knowing what kind of work you will be doing, so if you dont want to do it, then maybe dont work there?
If we do end up being seated, then the wait staff that did end up taking us will obviously show annoyance in how they are interacting with us. Never coming in to check on us, bad attitude when taking orders, just overall unpleasant.
We’ve given this location multiple chances to improve, but each visit is the same old, same old. At this point, heading over to the Ann Arbor location or a local coney island is a much better option than dining here. Wish I could say they can improve, but over 2 years with the same experiance every time is not looking promising.
The menu, abundant in classic American comfort food, offered a range of mouth-watering options. I opted for the signature “Farmers Choice Breakfast,” and it was a decision well-made. The eggs, cooked to fluffy perfection, the crispy hash browns, and the savory sausage links were a testament to Bob Evans’ commitment to quality and taste.
What stood out, however, was not just the food, but the impeccable service. The staff were not only efficient but also genuinely friendly, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer.
The highlight of the meal was the famous Bob Evans’ biscuits. Soft, buttery, and served warm, they were the epitome of comfort food. Paired with the rich, flavorful gravy, it was a dish that reminded me of home-cooked meals.
Moreover, the restaurant’s commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident in every bite. The prices, surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, added to the overall satisfaction of the meal.
In conclusion, Bob Evans Restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a destination for those seeking a taste of traditional American comfort food served with a side of heartwarming hospitality. A gem that consistently delivers delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for a satisfying meal in a home-like setting.
I ordered the Same thing that I had ordered about a wk ago But this time I was told that I could Only have home fries & not hash browns…I said I ordered this last wk & was offered hashbrowns & was able to get them. I was also told I had to have ham & bacon…I told her I ordered sausage last wk & her reply was “well not today”…I had to pay extra for sausage because I did not want the bacon or ham. Then when our order Finally arrived there was almost no gravy on my bisquits…so I asked if I could order a small cup of gravy…she signed aloud & said I’ll b back. Clearly unhappy.
My husband said he did not want the hash browns or home fries with his meal but his plate came out with the homefries anyway! His over medium eggs were so slimy that he sent his meal back…which made the waitress unhappy. Our friend
She did not return to our table to offer more coffee or ask if we needed anything else.
After all of that…the bill for just the 2 of us was Over $41! The cashier that cashed us out was Also unpleasant…never asked how everything was…just told me the price & took my payment & said have a nice day as she was liked away.
Very rude staff & mediocre food for an expensive breakfast. Might just stick with McDonald’s from now on!
During our 10 minute wait for the table, the staff commentary made it clear that we were not welcome, and delaying their closing duties.
After the 10 minute wait were sat at a table. The waitress came for our drink orders. My son requested pepsi……they were all out of pepsi. He changed his request, and we moved on with the rest of the drink order. Our food order was much more challenging. Apparently they were all out of the “breading” for fried chicken (tenders), so my kiddos had to change their plans for dinner. On a side note the breading for the country fried steak was still available. Two kiddos ordered burgers off the adult menu, one kiddo ordered a kiddy burger, the other kiddo a grilled cheese and soup.
While we waited for the food to be prepared the table behind us had a kiddo whose meal came with dessert. She requested ice cream. Unfortunately Bob Evans was out of ice cream……
Someone, maybe the nighttime manager – I don’t know because he aggressively approached our table and didn’t introduce himself – came to our table and told us they only had ONE hamburger bun and our party ordered two burgers. Being caught off guard by this, and the fact that the gentleman did not bring menus to allow for alternative options, nor did he offer any substitutions……and we ordered three burgers, did this only effect the adult burgers and not the kid one? After all the “lack” of inventory and the negative commentary from the staff upon our arrival we made the decision to take our business elsewhere.
I’m pretty sure your chicken tenders are frozen which means you don’t run out out of breading. I would recommend not cleaning your fryer as early as you did.
I’m pretty sure you didn’t run out of Pepsi. I recommend not cleaning your soda machine as early as you did.
I’m pretty sure you didn’t run out of ice cream. I recommend not cleaning your ice cream machine as early as you did.
I am pretty sure you didn’t run out of hamburger buns. I recommend not cleaning the griddle as early as you did.
Had we changed our menu (yet again) I’m pretty sure we would have been victims of an inventory problem.
My husband did reach out to corporate prior to this review. It has been a couple of weeks, and he is still waiting for the district manager to reach out to him.
The restaurant was freezing cold! Assumed A/C was on and temps dipped last night, but no response from staff when everyone around us was complaining. Our meal was barely warm and our sausage and bacon was burned, but waitress served it anyway. When my husband checked out, cashier asked how are meal was and he responded “mediocre “ but she never responded to ask what was wrong. Very disappointed overall!! We won’t be back for a long time!!
