Reviews
Year after year, that feeling has faded as the restaurant struggles to get good help, keep the restaurants clean, and provide a value to its customers. Even the ‘wholesome’ vibe of Bob Evan’s farms was weakened when they started selling cheesesteaks and alcohol.
We have three interactions today that lasted a grand total about about 90 seconds.
When we walked in, the manager (who was extremely slovenly in his attire) apparently got tired of us standing there staring at him and gruffly snapped that they’d be with us soon.
Shortly after, the hostess came to seat us and she took the time out of her day to make sure we knew we were inconveniencing her by being there while she seated us.
Our waitress flew past our table and said ‘be there in a minute’ and that was the end of our interaction.
We got tired of waiting and left, so no review of the food but the place was unkempt similar to the manager and just seemed dingy. I think the chain is probably due for being put out to pasture (bad joke, I know), and will most likely not get our business in the future…
READ BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS LOCATION
I stopped going to this Bob Evans for almost TWO YEARS because of one person: the General Manager, Shanice Johnson-Burke. I gave it another chance recently, and nothing has changed. Same hostility. Same attitude. Same made-up pricing.
Two years ago, she tried to charge me for barbecue sauce that was free everywhere else. That alone was enough to stop going here.
Fast forward to December 24, 2025 — I placed an online order and asked for a side of apples. I had ordered the same pancakes a month earlier and received apples at no charge. This time, she suddenly says apples are $5.99, then $5.18
Meanwhile, another Bob Evans location confirmed apples ring up $3 and are sometimes free. So which is it?
Prices seem to change depending on who you’re dealing with — and that’s a problem.
Instead of calmly explaining anything, she: ❌ Ignored me at first
❌ Acted openly hostile
❌ Wrote a nasty handwritten note on my receipt saying she “couldn’t add apples to online orders”
❌ Ended the interaction with “That’s the way it is, lady” and walked away
I am attaching: • Her manager card
• The receipt with the handwritten note
This is NOT a one-time issue. It’s a pattern.
When she is not in the restaurant, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is fine. When she is there, morale drops and customers are treated poorly. She single-handedly ruins the experience and drives people away. In my case, she already did — for years.
This location needs serious retraining, especially at the management level: • Customer service
• Professional communication
• Consistent pricing
• Basic respect
Bob Evans can do better — but not if behavior like this is tolerated.
Save yourself the frustration.
Or go to another location.
On a trip to the bathroom, I overheard the staff complaining about my family being here and questioning why we would eat out with all our kids, and upset they need to serve us. This was deeply hurtful. Also, the bathroom has visible black mold on the ceiling. Disgusting.
Our server was kind and patient with the kids, the only saving grace of the night. The food was basic, nothing exciting. The kids really like Bob evans, but i don’t think we will ever go here again. I don’t recommend eating here, especially if you have kids. They’ll not so secretly despise that you came in
We order off the menu and got our food to-go.
After paying, we noticed the bill didn’t reflect the menu. When we asked the cashier. She said they charge extra for to-go orders….
Where does it say anywhere that you charge “extra” for to-go orders?….
So your prices don’t reflect advertisement, not does it say anywhere about the possibility of prices being subject to change.
I’m going to look into this but pretty sure this could be an issue, in a civil court atmosphere….
