I rarely walk away from a table, but YUCK!
1) They should tell waitstaff not to demand tables in front of customers. Tacky!
2) Hollendaise Sauce should have a lemon taste. When I pointed this out, my waitress said she’d never tried ‘Holiday’ sauce. Apparently she had this in common with the cook.
3) Grits should be something like oatmeal, not mucked water. I’m serious. Mine were so diluted I couldn’t hold them with a fork.
We left and drove down Rt. 340 to John’s My Pappy’s Place, where the food was both AWESOME and extremely well priced. Great service, too!

Service was all poor, nothing fair about it. Been there twice and never got past the bad service. So to be fair, I can’t rate the food, but this review won’t let me skip it. First time, never got waited on after fifteen minutes so left. Thought we’d give it another try. We did get waited on after 10 minutes. Placed a drink order along with our lunch order of soup, salad and rolls. Fifteen minutes later no drinks and no food. We left and will not give them a 3rd try. The restaurant was not crowded either time. Wonder why? We went across the street to John’s Cafe. Had great service and great food in the amount of time that we were waiting at Bob Evans.

I visited this Bob Evans a few years back. I had a pretty good breakfast here, can’t complain. What was really memorable, the thing that my friends and I still talk about to this day, was what happened when we went to pay the check…

I asked the cashier to split the check for us. He seemed like a nice guy, but he definitely should not have been at the register by himself. Honestly, he seemed to need extra help. When he began having trouble splitting the check, he went into a full-on nervous breakdown. He grabbed the register, shook it, clenched his teeth, his eyes watering, and he angrily growled “why is this not WORKING!!!!??”. This continued for what seemed like an eternity every time the register wasn’t working for him and, frankly, it scared me. He needed assistance from his coworkers, but of course none of them seemed to notice this. This was quite a scene now. He was extraordinarily frustrated and sort of let out this persistent whining sound, like he was a bomb about to go off. At one point, he just gave up and sat at the register with his head down making this whining sound. I started trying to help him by offering him to split it with round numbers or simplify it in some other way. Really I just wanted to get the heck out of there because it was awkward. I think I ended up just paying the bill like normal and my friends and I settled up outside of Bob Evans.

Service sucked waited 15 min for someone to ask for our drink order then 15 more for them to come. 45 min for food to come. Breakfast should not take this long. I will never go back!!
