Since 1982, Bon Chinn’s Crab House has been delighting guests with a friendly atmosphere and delicious seafood. Serving the freshest seafood from around the globe, this father/daughter-owned establishment is located on Milwaukee Avenue in Wheeling.Bob Chinn’s specializes in seafood, most of which is delivered daily, but it is also well-known for quality wet-aged prime steaks and wide variety of fresh dishes. Guests can choose from pasta, appetizers, lobster, surf and turf, crab pots, shrimp, prime rib, oysters, scallops and more. The catch of the day is posted near the front of the establishment so guests can see exactly what seafood is on the menu.Bob Chinn’s Crab House is open seven days a week and can accommodate parties upon request.

Went today for the first time. We had the Alaskan king crab. It was very good. For the price we expected larger legs, however, they were big and it was still very good. We also had the 32oz Porterhouse steak,.. Amazing!!! Cooked perfect, nice char on the outside and wonderful flavor! The garlic rolls were delicious, warm, a little crunch when you bite into them, and loaded with garlic…yum. raw oysters were big and good, we like briny oysters, these were not, but still very good!! The waitress was so very nice, talkative, informative, liked every bit of service she provided. Atmosphere was pleasant. Wasn’t too busy at 12:30 when we got there, it started to fill up when we were leaving. Im definitely going back to try other items. Its over an hour drive for us, and I will be glad to take the drive again to eat here!

Bob Chinn’s is truly iconic for a reason. Of course, we started with their famous Mai Tais and the homemade garlic rolls — both lived up to the hype. The garlic rolls were warm, buttery, and impossible to stop eating.
For my main dish, I had the special king crab carbonara and it was absolutely fantastic — rich, flavorful, and loaded with generous pieces of king crab. We also shared the oysters appetizer, which was fresh, clean, and delicious.
Our waiter, Jose F., was fantastic — incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Highly recommend Bob Chinn’s if you’re looking for a classic, memorable dining experience.

OUTSTANDING PLACE! fresh seafood. smells fishy walking in but nope! it was outstanding! ordered the Nantucket scallops in season! OMG! ordered the crustacean celebration, food was served cold, but they gave me warm butter. regardless, the lobster, crab, and shrimp was delicious! Felipe was amazing! HE KNOWS THIS PLACE INSIDE AND OUT!! he was busy but super attentive and not in a overbearing manner! so informative!!! We ordered the Wellers special reserve-very smooth! (but im biased to wheated bourbons) the stagg was a little bit “bitey”. The mai tai had too much pineapple juice for me. but it was ok. Had the Blackberry bourbon old fashioned , that was good. They gave us a hawaiian strawberry shortcake- very delicious! not overly sweet! soft! delicious! definitely coming back!

The famous Bob Chinns sure lived up to its reputation. The coconut jumbo shrimp were fantastic with a light tasty breading. Crab stuffed mushrooms were really stuffed and could be a small meal in itself. Scallops were cooked perfect and melted in your mouth. Can’t really go here without ordering the enormous 7lb whole lobster. What a presentation and a ton of meat. To cap the meal the Paradise pie was like nothing I’ve had before. My husband, son, and I had such a wonderful evening at Bob Chinn’s. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt lively yet welcoming. Our seafood dishes were absolutely delicious—the crab cakes were crisp and flavorful, and the halibut was cooked to perfection. Rico, our server, went above and beyond with his attentiveness and friendly demeanor, making us feel well cared for throughout the meal. We ended the night with a slice of key lime pie that was the perfect sweet finish. Bob Chinn’s is truly a gem, and we can’t wait to come back!

Service was excellent. Food not so much. You would think if you pay $38 for just a small piece of fish with a side of red skinned potatoes and green beans that it would taste exceptionally delicious, but it was honestly not worth it. I would think with that kind of a price you would at least serve soup and salad with it. Honestly not worth it and the presentation was horrible.

My favorite place! Best & freshest crab legs out of any restaurant that I’ve ever had. Excellent service. Great decor, lots of fun pieces to look at and talk about (I hate the boring gray minimalist style that is EVERYWHERE!) My husband proposed to me in the parking lot here in 2022 (after our delicious meal)!! Thanks for being so great! We love our red cups, too!!
