Food and service were top-notch! We came as a group of 5 motorcycle riders and had a great time. This place is truly a hidden gem, never expected to find something like this in Florida. Honestly, if you didn’t see it for yourself, you wouldn’t believe it exists.

we were the last 2 people exploring the castle and looking around, they were so kind to us and offered my daughter and myself dinner before we left, despite being closed. it was so gracious and welcoming inside the boat. we had the meatloaf and spinach side, deeeelicious!! i love that the food was homemade and it was better than I could have hoped for. we will definitely be back, and come hungry!

Not sure what happened! See lots of 5* reviews but that was sadly not our experience. Would not recommend for family dining. We were SO excited to dine here but sadly left hungry even after a $41 (incl tip) bill-CASH ONLY. 2 sodas $6, they were SO flat-poured from 2L bottles. Chicken Nachos $13: chips w/dry (so dry, SO dry & barely edible) shredded chicken topped with shredded cheddar cheese and then all MICROWAVED! No flavor at all. Kids refused to eat it. Chicken salad $12: iceberg topped w/egg, green pepper, cucumber slices, jarred pickle slices (?), bacon, onion slices, dry shredded chicken (a generous amount), & blu cheese crumbles. Excluding the chicken, the salad wasn’t bad. Poor waitress was 1/2 as they were short staffed. She was very pleasant and kind. No soda refills offered, would have declined anyway. Atmosphere was awesome-was nice sitting outside under beautiful shade trees & one-man band who could sing & play seemingly anything & he did it very well!

Solomens Castle….Castle tour plus has sit-down lunches. Cool place to visit. Unique artwork done with old metal pieces and wood.
The tour guide inside the castle was insightful, and the tour is based on words of original artist and owner. Quite a unique sense of humor related to his works.
Beautiful stained glass too.
Sorry no pics allowed inside.

All the highway signs say “Solomon’s Castle” so you go there, park in the smallish parking lot, walk past the “castle” and there sits the “boat”. Unique destination attraction. Great for tourists.

Cash only!!

Would not recommend for families.
– Smoking is permitted and several tables were smoking.

Food was just okay.

Service was slow, but we were told they were missing a couple of wait staff.

Live music (Sunday) , was nice but extremely loud! Couldn’t hear the party at your table talk! So if you can’t hear the person sitting next to you, music is too loud.

Looks like it draws retirees & bikers.

Again, do not recommend for children.

The food was delicious and more than plentiful! The waitresses were friendly and quick and the food came sooner than expected. The waitresses were really hopping! I forgot to take a picture of my sandwich because I was that hungry!

I had the meatloaf and it was okay. My wife had the toasted ruben and it was pretty good. But where the meal shined was the deserts. I had the lily lime and it was light and refreshing. Others in our party had the walnut pie and they said it was very good! And the atmosphere was very relaxing. Make sure you go for the nature trail walk.

I absolutely love Solomons castle in Ona, Florida!! Such a uniquely worthy place to spend an afternoon for so many reasons. The food at “The boat in the moat” is superb no matter what you order. So good, in fact, that I will take the 250 mile round trip from home just for the food and the great experiences we always have. The tours may seem slightly overpriced, but in reality is a great bargain for the experiences you will have. This is an excellent choice for a day trip with your company. I promise everyone will love it!!
