My husband & I had the best dinner tonight, Nov 12th, while doing business in Rock Springs. Your restaurant had great reviews online, so we said yes!
Our server Kristen was outstanding. She helped accommodate my husband’s carnivore food choices and we were not disappointed. His Ribeye and Shrimp & my Salmon Oscar were both delicious!

Loved ones and I had dinner here last night for a combo birthdays/Boxing Day celebration and it was fantastic! Who knew after traveling the world (including Australia), I’d try something exotic like kangaroo for the first time in Rock Springs, WY (delicious, by the way). I had the filet steak with caeser salad and roasted brussel sprouts. Everything tasted amazingly great, melt-in-your-mouth excellence, service was wonderful and a good time was had by all. I understand they had a recent change in chefs – all for the better, I’d say, based on our experience. Highly recommend this place and I’ll definitely be back!

I had grilled atlantic salmon with lump crab mashed potatoes and asparagus with bèarnaise sauce and it was absolutely amazing, excellent service as well. The elk cove white wine was very good as well. My freind had the waygu steak and the meat cut was great but lacked flavor ,the green chili pork fries as an appetizer are freaking addictive.

Ordered 3 appetizers to start, took a very long time 30-45 min. Apps came and we ordered 2 entrees. After an hour and a half waiting for our two dinners we gave up. (The apps were good, crab cakes, pumpernickel bread and kangaroo.)
The place was not busy, our waitress was in tears. I tipped her well because I know that it wasn’t her fault.
Where was the manager? Someone, an intoxicated male was in the kitchen using curse words to the kitchen staff as I walked by on my way to the bathroom.
When there are problems a manager/owner should step up and cover any issues that arise. Harsh words do not make for a pleasant workplace environment. The leader should lead by example, not stand on the sidelines throwing rocks.
We will not be returning. I hope the lady BT (with kids) finds a better position somewhere else.

We had a wonderful meal at a fantastic restaurant. I had the best ribeye steak dinner that I have to say was beyond excellent. My wife ordered the salmon and said it was delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. Prices are competitive for comparable establishments, but more than the average restaurant. However, the Boars Nest is not an average restaurant and worth every penny.

My buddy took me here as a second option because the first choice had just closed their kitchen. We called ahead and they said to come on over. It was outstanding! The service was upbeat with no guilt or pressure and the food was to die for! Never had asparagus so thick and fresh on their Chicken Oscar. Only one TV at the bar, but this is not the kind of place you come to catch a certain game. You go to the Boar’s Tusk to feast and have a great time!

Boars Tusk is almost always my “go-to” for a special occasion dinner. Dined with friends on 12/26/25. Even though there was a recent change in chefs, the food & service were as excellent as ever.
