We went for lunch on a rainy Saturday and ate inside. The place is so adorable, perfectly decorated and quite cozy! Definitely a smaller space for dine-in, but if you go at the right time like we did you’re in for a treat!
All of the food was incredible- and very reasonably priced in my opinion because they give you very generous portions. I’m a seitan wing fanatic, so of course those were at the top of my list to try. I ordered the ‘Hot son’ and Buffalo wings and hubbs ordered the bbq wings and boardwalk fries.
OMG the wings were so good! Definitely will probably be getting them every visit, not gonna lie! My husband loved the bbq as well. He said it was the perfect blend of sweet and smoky, and he also enjoyed the fries.
I also ordered the Caesar salad and that was also delicious. My husband ordered the award- winning “Twister” cheesesteak and he said it was right up there with his favorite ‘regular’ (meat-he is not vegan) steaks. Now let me tell you- thanks HUGE, because he has yet to rave about a vegan cheesesteak anywhere, he is not normally a fan of cheese ‘wiz’ (which the twister has a house-made wiz), AND he is a true cheesesteak snob.
Needless to say, we can’t wait to return! In fact we are planning to this upcoming weekend! ❤️
Initially when I opened it up at home, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But after following the reheating instructions exactly, my kitchen smelled like a freshly-made vegan Thanksgiving FEAST. The verdict: 10/10. The food was absolutely incredible. The seitan turkey was divine. The stuffing, perfection. The garlic mashed potatoes… THOSE POTATOES LIVE ON IN MY DREAMS.
With a lot of stress going on at work and not much free time, Boardwalk Vegan made my Thanksgiving everything I could have ever wanted, and more. As a first time customer, I will be absolutely returning many times!
1. My review has no “theater” and sought no public notoriety; it is simply how I felt after years of spending hard earned money for an extremely high priced product. Which was happily spent for fully stuffed great product.
—->which I already said in the original review.
2. My review’s purpose was and still is to warn others. It also puts the reviewed store or service on notice – fix the issues fast, or more negative reviews will ensue. This is the point of a review, there is no other reason for me.
3. If is was an aberration – great, but you still need to own your actions.
4. You accuse me of “ranting” – there is no sigh of ranting. Each sentence makes a point, stating facts. My prose are grammatically correct with topic sentences, descriptive word usage and conclusions.
*e.g. who ever made my dinner knew exactly what they were doing. They did not accidentally leave the roll 15 to 20% empty. They did not, not notice how empty the roll was while they were rapping it. They saw it and sent it out – knowingly.
5. Although sad & my heart goes out to you & your family, using a family illness as a reason for sending out sub-par, unacceptable food is unprofessional and embarrassing. I too have had loved ones in hospitals & die. I took time off work, I didn’t go to work then try to use my sadness as an excuse.
—> saying I could have called, driven back to the store, received a new correctly filled dinner, drive back home all while my wife’s dinner is either getting cold, or she’ll have to reheat it, or eat while it’s hot without me. In any case your choice (not an accident) to send out that sad dinner ruined our family dinner!
6. Your response is unprofessional. The entire response is a defensive childish rant. Making attempts to insult and discredit me. Instead of owning your actions you make an attempt to excuse them. Name calling, assuming my intentions to be self serving and then the pinnacle of immaturity. You’re like the 4th grader who takes his ball so no one else can play because the truth hurt their feelings.
Postscript: the difference between a customer and a sale. You make profit from a sale once, you make profit from a customer for a life time.
Customer @ $1,200.00 a year for 25 years = $30,000.00 now that same customer tells 6 other vegetarian friends becoming responsible for another $180,000.00 in 25 years. Then of course their vegetarian children grow up to be come life long customers too.
But, you don’t care about that, all you know is your feelings got hurt and now all you want is to hurt that person back. Yes, that is sad, that is childish, and it does seem you responded during the reactive/anger phase of reading the review. Most adults, most business owners, even the majority of college age young adults know – never type while angry, upset, frustrated or overly sad. If you must, type in your word possessor, save it, wait to calm down, then reread, edit as necessary.
So, let’s replace “cheat” with poor management choices.

Boardwalk Vegan has joined the ranks of businesses that charge more & GIVE YOU LESS!!
They had a good run but now they’re just another business charging outrageous prices. But, we gladly paid it because it’s the best veg fake steak & Roast beef sandwich’s.
2 years ago the sandwiches were overflowing packed with meat, wow! Then a year ago it started slowly getting less packed, certainly not overflowing anymore!
Now, take a look at this twenty dollar roast beef I received last Friday (10/7/2025) I’m pissed off, wouldn’t you be. OMG the roll is Not even filled to the ends. How dare you! After years of giving you our money and you recently raised your prices again for this dry ill looking food! SHAME ON YOU, Boardwalk vegan has taken a long walk off a short pier!
We do not recommend wasting your hard earned pay on food that would not fill a growing teen, let alone a full grown man. So very sad! Boardwalk V. is now no longer worth the heavy price!
My husband, son and I stopped in to pick up 3 of those Philly cheesesteaks and they were absolutely delicious! My husband (who eats meat but has a ton of my vegan food) said it was the best he’s ever had. My son (vegetarian) said the same. The flavor, the texture- seriously, so good. We live in Downingtown (about 50 minutes away) but when our daughter was performing close by, we made a point to order from Boardwalk Vegan, and I’m so glad we did 🙂
