The staff are really nice and the only redeeming thing about this place was their banh mi and pate that they give you as part of their bo-ne. We ordered the shrimp dumplings and you can tell it was frozen dumplings. It had no flavor and the shrimp tasted frozen. The dumpling skin was hard from the microwave.
My 2nd mistake was ordering the bun rieu, I’m sorry but that travesty is not in any shape or form bun rieu. Never in my life had I tasted such a bland and awkward tasting bun rieu. I don’t even know where to start with how bad it was. The smell was the first thing that hits you in the face and it was from this weird cut of meat with tendon on it. I want to say it was pork but it was oddly kinda beef like. It smelled horrible and it tasted horrible. Fried tofu was no fried and tasted like prepackaged store bought tofu that was just tossed in there. It was supposed to be bun rieu with crab but there was no crab meat.
My wife orders their bo-ne original since it’s their signature dish, this thing was microwaved. There’s no way this plate touched a skillet or a grill since there were no grill marks or sear. Beef has literally no flavor and you literally gotta drown it in their dry sauce to get any taste outta it.
It’s madness how food can taste this bad. I’m going to stick to pho yummy or hem for bo-ne. This experience was like a giant lump of coal in my stocking for Xmas. 60 bucks wasted and taste buds traumatized.

Ah, this place ROCKED!
4 of us visited from Dallas. The other couple are Vietnamese and they were so happy to be in Houston to eat the great Viet food down there. One of the things that as a non-Viet that I enjoy the most is Vietnamese breakfast. I found this place via Google Reviews and this was our breakfast the day before we all headed back.
Two of us ordered their standard Viet breakfast with steak. To be honest, the steak wasn’t all that great. I should’ve ordered the ribeye. But everything else was pretty amazing. They make their own banh on premise, so it was nice and fresh. They gave a generous portion of pate, which my wife stole most of it and the bread from me. Meaning, she ordered something that she didn’t like as much as mine. The sausage, whatever it was, complimented the egg, bread, and pate quite nicely.
Overall, the experience was great. Nice and clean, good, friendly service. Would return again the next time we’re in the area.

This review is for their banh mi only. I would never get their banh mi here again, I had order 1x BBQ pork with egg and 2x steak and egg banh mi. Their sandwich is so dry, the BBQ pork does not come with any pate and almost no butter. Their steak and egg is mediocre only not worth $10 per sandwich.

Very delicious food. Easy to have a low carb meal with the original bo ne. Very cozy atmosphere. Only the banh bao was not too my liking, pre-made frozen buns. The egg rolls were also tasty.

I came here and ordered 2 orders of bo ne as well as a few other items. Although the signature dish is the name of the restaurant, but the flavor is far from it. Not only does it’s lacking in flavor, it didn’t taste like the beef were marinated/seasoned.
Not sure what the deal is with that young guy. When I came up to pay for our bill, he just stare at me with a dirty look. It’s awful how he treats his customers. No worries. We will never come back. That guy needs some serious training on how to treat his customers. It’s a no wonder the restaurant has a lot of negative reviews.

Been here to the location quite a few times. Service is always good and fast. We always come in just right after the lunch rush so there’s always plenty of seating available. Love the murals on the wall, very creative! I’ve always ordered the Bo Ne Houston (the Original) and it’s always satisfying. Th portion is just right and the steak is tender and flavorful. I’ve had the Bo Steak before and is just as delicious, such a big chunk of steak that’s perfectly sizzled. Our order’s normally come with salad and baguettes with pate which we enjoy as well. This time we ordered the fresh shrimp spring rolls, which didn’t make the photos cause they were so good we just gobbled them up. They were freshly made, we can tell from the way the noodles consistency and the sauce it came with, chef’s kiss! Will definitely keep coming back for the Bo Ne and to try other dishes.

I purchased “Bo Ne”. It steak, 2 egg sizzling on iron pan. It little salty, but add the combination of bread and side salad reduce the salty flavor. I been to other steakhouse it more salty in my opinion. I also got the Vietnamese coffee. The price are 23 buck. It seem high to most people but the combo you get is a fair price in my opinion. The bread is freshly made at the restaurant. It a family business.

Overall the years, this has been a go to breakfast and lunch joint for me. It’s a Vietnamese take on steak & eggs. Always served on a piping hot cow skillet. Bread, butter, pate, and a house salad accommodates the bo new specials. Almost always ask for extra butter and pate! In recent years, I don’t go often anymore since it’s quite a far drive. Prices have gone up a few bucks, portions has gotten smaller and the place itself isn’t so clean anymore. Kinda depressing. I still enjoy it but it’s not what it used to be. Now there are other places that has open and serves the same dish but I do find myself coming back here. It’s good but not great.

The place setting is nice. Good atmosphere. The food is ok not good enough for me to come back, although the bread is good and fresh. Rest room clean and not dirty. Service I didn’t like at all. They serve you once and never come back to check on you or give you refills. I was not hip to this place nor the popular dishes here until some family from H town mentioned Bo Ne. We ordered the combination, Houston and the small Bo Ne. They give you a lot of food per dish. A small green salad, sausages or steak, and 2 sunny side up eggs. The bread here is really fresh and airy on the inside. They give you plenty of bread per entree. I recommend adding the pate, butter, runny egg and meat onto each slide of bread to make yourself a nice sandwich. Flavors here are on point. I didn’t need any more salt or soy sauce for the dishes. The sausages and steak meats were seasoned perfectly.
Service here is really great. I ordered and got my food in under 10 minutes even on a busy Saturday. They feature vegetarian dishes and an extensive menu with plenty of traditional Vietnamese entrees as well. I really enjoyed my experience here. Prices are reasonable and service is on point. Parking is really easy to find as they have a wide open lot. I’ll definitely be back to try their banh mi.
