We ordered $78 worth of food, including their new GFC chicken, wedges, and chips. We arrived within 10 minutes of the quoted 20-minute pickup window, as we are locals and live close by.
Unfortunately, the food quality was very poor. The chips and wedges were soggy, only warm, and the boxes were falling apart. The chicken was extremely dry. We had tried this chicken during the first week it was released and had no issues, which is why we were keen to order it again.
I called to let them know, expecting at least some form of resolution. Instead, I was told they could not replace the meal and that we should have asked for “extra crunchy” chips and wedges, as that’s what people in the community do. I was also told that the Emily and her husband had eaten the same batch of chicken with no issues, and that the cameras showed the chips had just come out of the fryer—which was definitely not the case.
I even offered to come back and show them the food, but was told it wasn’t necessary. I was also told their hands were tied because people often call trying to get free food. To be spoken to this way and not offered any form of compensation was extremely disheartening, especially as locals.
To have $78 wasted with no accountability is not fair. Sadly, we won’t be returning and will be taking our business elsewhere.
Service – young lady was so polite and friendly its so good to see young people working.
Atmosphere- cute little outdoor dining area in the middle of nowhere
Thank you!!!!
The staff are friendly and the business is ‘getting on it’s feet’.
In this instance I ordered a gluten and dairy free toastie and a hot beverage. The team were more than happy to cater dietary restrictions where they are able. I can’t wait to go back for dinner and try their ribs!
EDIT: I came back for a takeaway dinner. Meal was nice. In the week or so, they have started to expand their range of daily incidentals, so locals or travellers parked up at the free camping spot (opposite the shop) can run in for milk and bread. There was a small range of fresh salads and wraps, and I was particularly excited to see a GF vegan muffin amongst them.
They are really great at catering for coeliac which is rare in TSV, so greatly appreciated for the wife and kids!
The home made meat pies (not GF sorry) are to die for. My favorite pies in TSV
Not to mention the service, both in the morning and in the evening, which is very pleasant, with a very friendly and smiling staff ☺️
Highly recommended!
