In the space formerly occupied by Charlie Macgrooder’s, Blue Star is a wonderful little respite from the usual fast food scene in Leland. Friendly, quick service by people who seem to care that you are there. We ate lunch there. Gourmet-style tacos, their spin on a Cuban sandwich, and a cheeseburger and fries. All three served swiftly, hot and tasty. We will return for future meals.

I was excited to try this place, first because I had no idea what to expect and second because Leland needs more restaurants.
Pleasantly surprised by the inside, I hadn’t been to the restaurant previous to Blue Star.
The menu was interesting because you have chicken wings, chips and queso, tacos, Asian flare, tuna tataki. I’m just not sure what you would define this place as.
This is what I ordered
Appetizer: guacamole, queso, and pico de galo with chips. The guacamole was great and the queso was good as well. Their version of a pico was…not what I expected, it was cherry tomatoes cut in half. Not really for me.
Korean BBQ tacos. They were very good, I loved the brisket, it was tender and flavorful. Kimchi on anything is a win in my book. The cilantro and creamy sauce really set the dish off.
My kid got the taco with mac n cheese. The taco was nothing worth mentioning. The mac n cheese got a thumbs up. It had crumbled cheez its in it.
Finally for dessert we got the chocolate creme brulee, which is probably the only reason I would go out of my way to go back.
Overall it was great, so nice to have an addition to the food scene in Leland.

So excited for a good place to eat in Leland, that actually has some healthy (and very flavorful) options. Staff was friendly and owner thanked us for coming as we left. Will definitely go back!
