If you are ever in Memphis on Beale St this is a MUST try! The service is fast and friendly. The food was so good I went 2 days in a row. Lol The gumbo is some of the best gumbo I’ve ever tasted. The shrimp was so huge! My brother enjoyed the ribs. He said they were falling off the bone. I was not disappointed!

Stopped in here from previous reviews alone. They serve huge portions. We ordered gumbo fries as an appetizer and not disappointed-soooooo delicious! We had 5 in our party and seated immediately, we arrived in the late afternoon. Our server never let us sit with an empty drink. Our food didn’t take too long to come out. We had the Best Meal on Beale, the shrimp skillet, catfish, and steak and everyone enjoyed their meal! So delicious and so glad we chose to come here our one night in Memphis while on Beale St.

The only place that could take our last minute request of our 15 person group! We only waited outside for about 15-20min.

We had an amazing time at blues city cafe and I can’t recommend it enough! The food was incredible, the ribs were falling off the bone and their coleslaw is to die for. Overall had a really great time and staff and live music only added to our overall experience.

Service was the best about this visit as the food was not world famous in my opinion. I will say it was good but not great for BBQ and maybe I am being tough because I owned a BBQ restaurant and have had the chance to taste great BBQ over the years at competitions but it was really great service and I am sure when the drinks are pouring the place is hoping and good times are happening. Check another thing off our bucket list of things to do in Memphis.

The atmosphere is one full of energy. The music, the constant movement draws you into that soul air that Memphis is know for. The customer service is top notch. I cannot recall a time where a server was more attentive. I felt as if she was reading my mind. Bravo! The food is the weakest aspect. Maybe the meal I ordered. The chicken was sturdy. The salad was dry. I was dissatisfied.

While looking for a great BBQ place to eat while visiting downtown, I stumbled upon BCC. It was a short walking distance from the hotel, so I ventured over.

WOW. Killer ribs! The seafood gumbo is also amazing. You should at least get a cup of it. Steak cut fries taste good with their seasoning. Coleslaw and beans also tasty. Five-star meal.
