Blue Corn is such a cool spot — part café, part candle-making factory. The whole place smells incredible with beeswax and coconut candles in the works. I had the quiche with a small salad and sourdough, absolute perfection. Also tried the breakfast sammy (great brioche!) and burrito, all excellent. Great coffee, friendly vibes, and a creative atmosphere.

Wow! This place is phenomenal! It’s a candle and gift shop, that also sells excellent coffee, brunch food, and great merchandise! The food is fresh and delicious and the cappuccino was perfect!
If I could only buy the whole store They also ship merchandise if you happen to be a tourist!

YUM! Stopped here on a whim and o am SO happy we did! What a good find! The atmosphere is so adorable with the little shop and being able to see the candle making! The food? 10/10! I’ve never had avocado toast like that and now I fear nothing will ever even come close to that! The burrito was super tasteful and had a delicious chipotle drizzle! The chai is perfectly spiced and well balanced and now my boyfriend’s favorite drink is the Affogato! The ladies working were also delightful! 10/10!

Heaven on Earth! I walked in and had to stop and just sigh! Candles, coffee, good food. Whats not to love?! I had a cup of the kitchari soup with sourdough toast and a lavender mint tea. Very healing for my belly that was sore. After I ate I had a wonderful time shopping and talking with the workers who were all so amazing and friendly. They worked so well together. I absolutely am obsessed with my candles and I can’t wait to go back with my family next time. A favorite stop when in Montrose. 10/10 highly highly recommend! ️☕️

Holy moly, I’m in love with this place. I had a few hours in Montrose while waiting for a loved one who had an appt. I felt a little bereft until I walked into this place. Beautiful, warm, welcoming café + coffee shop + candle shop. I loved the Golden Milk (and actually got two ), and got a quiche and cookie – all of which i savored and enjoyed. I also got to work productively at a comfortable table while not feeling in the way, and the energy was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Our favorite place in Montrose! My husband is a picky, health conscious eater and we are happy they match his needs. The coffee is great and the food is clean, healthy, and yummy! The vibe is chill for meeting friends or working too. They sell local artist crafts and beeswax candles made on the property!

Bluecorn Café & Mercantile is truly one of the best places to visit in Montrose, Colorado — whether you’re looking for a cozy café, a delicious breakfast spot, or a unique local shopping experience.
I stopped in for breakfast and had the avocado toast, which was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The coffee was honestly some of the best coffee I’ve ever had — rich, smooth, and incredibly fresh. The perfect go-to spot for coffee and breakfast in Montrose.
The café is connected to a charming mercantile shop filled with handmade candles, artisan pottery, kitchen tools, and local specialty foods. It’s the perfect place to find gifts or just treat yourself to something unique and locally made.
One of the coolest features? You can actually watch them pour and craft candles in their on-site factory — such a rare and special experience. It adds a creative, authentic touch to the entire visit.
There’s plenty of seating and it’s a great spot to open your laptop and get some work done while enjoying the view and people-watching. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm, and welcoming — everything you want in a local café.
If you’re looking for the best breakfast in Montrose, best coffee shop with WiFi, or the best locally-owned store for artisan shopping, Bluecorn Café & Mercantile is a must-visit. A true hidden gem in Western Colorado!

Stopped here in the midst of a road trip from Denver, and I’m so glad we did! They have lots of gluten-free options (quiche, gluten-free bread for sandwiches, dessert tarts, etc.), and the breakfast sandwich and dirty chai I got were extremely tasty. The ambiance of the coffee shop / store is so cool – I only wish it were closer to me!
