We went Saturday afternoon on Valentine’s Day for an early dinner and a regular place to have a good time, nothing fancy and keep it real. The place is nice and has a good atmosphere. The prices are good, and the sushi is good for what you pay. The server was very nice and she was on top of your order! The coconut crab soup was very tasty, and I love the Mango Crab Rangoon. You will not be disappointed. The cocktails look nice, but we ordered sake, the Momokawa organic nigori ginjo, I like it
Overall, it is a good place to enjoy with friends, have some drinks, and chat.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill left us feeling blue after dining there on a beautiful Friday night. Let’s start with the really good parts of the experience. The service and atmosphere are excellent. Our server took great care of us and when things went awry with the food, Katie the manager did her best to rectify the situation. Which brings me to the disappointing part. The sushi and rolls were either flavorless, not fresh, and in the worst case inedible. The edamame and peppers were excellent though. There’s so much to like about this place, it’s sad that the food part of the evening was overall substandard.

Beautiful restaurant. Excellent service. Food quality was underwhelming. This establishment serves westernized sushi and rolls due, which admittedly I am not a fan of. The execution of the recipes seemed careless.
– Shishito Peppers – too much sauce and salt
– Beef Hot Rock – too salty.
– Truffle Salmon – hard to believe, but salmon and truffle flavors were overpowered by the ponzu sauce.
– Cherry Bomb – can only taste sauce, not the tuna
– Crispy Rice Cake – perhaps the only notable sushi creation of the night.

As a vegan, I’m always on the lookout for restaurants where I can go with meat eating friends and still have a great meal. The food is delicious and there are a number of appetizers and rolls that are vegan. Some menu standouts are the cucumber salad, Brussels sprouts appetizer, crunchy cabbage roll and cowgirl roll. Cocktails are also delicious and beautifully crafted. The sangria spritz is a definite standout!
In contrast, the service leaves something to be desired. While food is brought quickly, they always seem short staffed and therefore hurried. While no one has directly been rude to us, this restaurant falls short of the experience in nearby similarly tiered restaurants at the Domain.
Finally, we do love the ambiance. It is cozy with excellent ambient lighting. The booths are comfortable in the main dining room and I love the lanterns overhead. There are other areas – an enclosed terrace as well as bar seating where they have TV’s.

My wife and I arrived late, around 9:45, after a delayed flight and a rushed hotel check-in. We apologized profusely, promised to eat quickly, and fully expected polite efficiency.
Instead, we were met with something rare: genuine hospitality.
Bella and the entire team treated us like family. Thoughtful bites, warm service, and absolutely no sense of being rushed turned what could’ve been a forgettable late meal into a truly memorable experience.
This is hospitality done right. You should all be incredibly proud of what you’re creating here.

Oh my gosh! Everything was mind blowingly good! The vegan menu had some of the best vegan sushi ive ever had! The Hot popper and Cowgirl was absolutely my favorite and the miso soup was so scrumptious! I would also like to give a special Thank you to our Server, Savannah! This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin.

Good selection of vegan and traditional sushi. I love the variety of vegan sushi, with diverse flavors. The chef has definitely put a lot of thought in these creations.
You can get a sushi boat with an order of 6 making rolls.

The staff is always courteous and service is good even when they are busy. It is recommended to make advance reservations, especially on weekends.

Food was delicious especially for the price you pay, and it’s a great spot for date night. I love how they separated the cooked sushi from the raw sushi on the menu so guests who don’t eat raw sushi can enjoy the food here as well.

The restaurant is nicely decorated & spaced out. My only complaint is the restroom being so small w/ 2 stalls for the women and the door gets stuck when you try to exit the restroom, but that’s about it.

Every time I have been to Blue Sushi Sake I have been met with kindness and impeccable service. As a queer woman I also feel safe here which is one of the reasons I continue to come back.

I’m not one to often leave reviews, but when I viewed some reviews on March 1st misrepresenting an event I personally witnessed as a customer. I find it important to share my experience.

It was a particularly busy Saturday night and 5 people who wrote reviews were standing at the bar because there were not enough seat. While obviously crowding other patrons that were trying to enjoy their dinner at the bar and tables close behind them, I watch servers have to ask multiple times if they could squeeze by just to deliver food to their tables. I witnessed the individuals continually interrupting the bar staff to yell out an order while they are mid mixing 4 other orders since the moment I sat down. It was not respectful to anyone and yet I see the staff having to work even harder than they should have to, to try and satisfy them. There are shops all around that you can check out while waiting for your table, treating Blue Sushi as a bar and not a restaurant seemed to be their misunderstanding. The Bar staff is extremely friendly and attentive while still making drinks for the rest of the restaurant and serving food at the bar/nearby tables every day.

Seeing the events transpire on March 1st that garnered a few 1 star reviews and one sided comments from visibly disrespectful and inconsiderate patrons should not deter you from visiting Blue Sushi Sake. Best happy hour in town, amazing cocktails, conversation, and atmosphere. Special thank you to Chiara, Tori, Dario, MJ, Amethyst, Dakota and the rest of the staff that makes this one of my favorite places. Thanks for your time.
