The “A Romantic Holiday Wine Pairing Dinner” was such a spectacular event. Low key. Luxuriously planed out. Specticaul to behold. The staff is upper class. Everyone is lovely. The 7 cources were each 5 star. Never was my glass empty and i drink fast . If you have a chance to join one of the 3 a year wine pairing events for $100 take the oppertunity to romanticly treat yourself and one other. It pays off in just the first 30 minutes but expect to be there for 3 hours atleast the wine and champagne doesn’t end.

As I entered this establishment, I was pleasantly surprised by the upbeat lively ambiance. Waiter was very nice and professional. A bit disappointed on the appetizer selection. We ordered to start the shrimp which was good. The crab bisque was good but lacked salt. Then the our entrees came out which was the rack of lamb and the scallops also lacked salt. I was disappointed because all the dishes were just SAFE but nothing to write home about and not to flavorful.

We’ve been here several times and it’s been excellent. But this time it wasn’t as good. It took forever for the bread, which wasn’t as good as usual. The food is great because Kitty cookes it but high priced. We only got 3 scallops in the scallops entree for a high price.
They may have been having a hard time due to the hurricane scare because the windows were still boarded up. I will try it again because it’s usually a fantastic restaurant.

What a find! Great food and a very good value. Live music most nights. Helpful friendly staff…(we go with my ninety year old dad and they are super accommodating). They have a special deal, where you get a free bottle of wine for every two entrees and four apps ordered; so great for large parties! There’s an amazing coffee scene there too.

This place has prices comparable to Vero’s gold standard, the Tides. The food, however, didn’t compare. We had the much recommended lobster risotto and most of the lobster was undercooked. The intererior is a bit gloomy with no windows. A new location is in the works so that may improve. Service was good.

I have eaten at the Blue Star on five different occasions in the last eight months . Each time I have had differeent wait staff and I have eaten different meals and “taste shared” with my partner and friends .Each visit was not only a delicious taste experience, but, also a visual delight. The service was first class with a staff that really wanted me and my guests to relax and enjoy the experience. I have sent friends who have agreed with my feelings of this great restaraunt .

Attractive throwback atmosphere and menu. Service was a callow attempt to be competent. Had I not known about the bourbon list, I wouldn’t have heard anything about it. Also, our server forgot to mention the specials, but was thorough when prompted. Appetizer was not timed well and the runner auctioned our plates, which isn’t good. The shrimp carbonara and the venison osso bucco lacked dimension, any hint of a flavor profile, or seasoning. The small batch bourbon was the best part of the meal.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! Stopped by here last night, with my husband for drinks. Before we had been sitting 5 minutes the bartender Allen completely blew us away. I had a specialty martini and my husband had a Kentucky bourbon beer, all recommended by Allen, and we’re amazing! I can not say enough about how positive our experience was here!!!

I would give 3 1/2 maybe. Food was ok. Bisque needed flavor, smelled fishy and the lobster was chewy. The filet was certainly not 8oz before cooking. The lobster risotto was small. For my soup & another appetizer, husband had a beer then wine and I had 3 bar drinks, dinners plus dessert… total was over $200. For that price it should be amazing, it was not. The kicker was the next table with their Pomeranian wandering around under the table with the young lady hand feeding it from “grammas plate”. NOT OK at a “fine dining restaurant” and we won’t be back. It’s a shame, Vero Beach doesn’t have many restaurants that aren’t chains.

March 26, 2021. Had dinner for the first time at Blue Star in Vero Beach, FL. It was a wonderful experience. Wine selection was very good, appetizers were very nicely done, especially the seared foi gras with the blueberry chutney. Salad was creative and delicious embellished with Florida citrus. Tenderloin filet was even more tender than I had expected, cooked perfectly, served with an also perfectly cooked asparagus and a wonderfully well executed sauce bernaise which was “bright” and freshly made. Last, I tried Chef Kitty’s rendition of Key Lime pie with a ginger snap crust. It was was an outstanding finish to what is and will be a very memorable dinner. All the while there was soft beautiful live piano music and a very efficient, fun, and helpful waitress named Meghan. Bon appetit!
