Came in for dinner and cocktails, and left with a great experience. For dinner I had the ahi tuna, which was phenomenal, especially with the mango salsa. My partner had the burger that was also delicious. We had two rounds of drinks, which were hit or miss. The old fashioned wasn’t really balanced and their garnish-game wasn’t top notch, but overall better than expected in a small town. The variety of cocktails on offer was pretty impressive. Our server was also a star – I believe her name was Ruth. She was helpful, sweet, and knowledgeable. She made recommendations about where else we could sightsee in town. She offered to take a picture of us and it turned out great with her coaching 🙂 While it was not inexpensive, it was a good value.

Out of french fries… out of chicken…the comments from several Locals were “we’ve never seen it this bad.” We checked in for a 7pm reservation and no one ever checked on us… sat at the bar. Good drinks. Good food. Met the owner’s daughter…. very apologetic… might have been her first night managing. Feel bad, but providing a very honest review.

I had my daughters rehearsal dinner at Blue Ruin and they planning was very easy and effortless on my part. The staff at Blue Ruin was superb to work with and they made the night amazing. The decorations were beautiful and the food was amazing. Thank you to all the staff who made the night spectacular !! It is very much appreciated.

Ate and drank at Blue Ruin speakeasy Friday. What a great place! Historic building in Cambridge, MD, serving a HUGE selection of whiskies. Awesome drinks at very reasonable prices.
The bartenders really seem knowledgeable about the drinks they make .They have the biggest selection of whisky/bourbon cocktails I have seen! If you are in Cambridge, check this place out. 10 min from the Hyatt Regency.(in fact the bellhop recommended the place)
I will definitely go back to this place.

I only leave reviews if things were really good or really bad. Blue Ruin was a delightful discovery for us. The food—oysters Rockefeller, duck confit, crab cakes—were fresh and tasty. The crab cakes sat on a delicious succotash and the duck was on lentils. Both dishes were among the best we have ever tasted. In addition, my old fashioned was expertly crafted. We enjoyed the “speakeasy” vibe and the owners daughter took great care in asking about our experience and explaining the history of the location. We look forward to returning.

Wow!! Blue Ruin was a participant in The Taste of Cambridge this past weekend. They had our vote for best crab cake and Maryland style crab soup. Excellent!! Decided to have dinner tonight and they did not disappoint. Started off with a Long Wharf Punch, and the crab and corn fritters. This appetizer comes with 5 good size fritters and the dipping sauce had the right amount of spice. For our entrée, we ordered the Chesapeake Gumbo. This was perfection in a bowl!! Loaded with chicken, sausage, shrimp, and veggies. The gravy… oh the gravy!!! Service and atmosphere were excellent and we will visit again!

Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere.
We got several of the cocktails – so many different things to choose from. The crab cake sliders on a salted pretzel roll and the sirloin steak…both delicious. The chocolate cream dessert had a sprinkle of salty sweet on top, again so good. The romaine salad was different – literally a head of romaine not chopped but it tasted great – dressing was tangy. Lots of lump crab meat in the Maryland crab soup. We will definitely be back. Everything we tried was on point.

Blue Ruin rocked it! We had a large party of about 24 for my wife’s birthday dinner. Heather went above and beyond to help make sure everything was setup prior, answering all the questions I could throw at her.
The room was perfect, the servers were very attentive and accommodating, especially for a group that size where everyone was paying on their own. The food was delicious and timed perfectly.
Nothing but positive feedback from our group. Thank you for making it a memorable evening!

Had a great time here w the team at Blue Ruin. Drinks were delicious, food were fantastic.
Had a Blue Ruin cocktail and a Cosmo. Both had good balance of sweet and strength. They also have along list of whisky & bourbon available.
Best dish of the evening was the cold tortellini salad. Cooked perfectly, the tortellini were coated with the right amount of seasoning for a summer dinner… Light and luscious… Could eat another bowl of it.
It’s a popular spot. Do check them out.

Traveling from out of the area we arrived at an empty restaurant but took a chance because of the great reviews. We were not disappointed. Terrific crabcakes in a bed of succotash in a white wine sauce. Just superb! Excellent, friendly service. An historic building with exposed brick made for pleasing ambience. Other guests came rolling in while we dined. I would definitely go back.
