Considering the taste, texture and price, these are my favorite bagels in the Lynchburg area. I think going on taste alone some others edge them out, but when I factor in the price, Blue Ridge has the competition beat. They have multiple flavors of bagels, even bagged “day old” bagels that are even cheaper. There were five to a bag and they were only $4, and the bagels are still delicious! The bagels are also pretty big, they aren’t small.
But what definitely makes this stand out from the rest are their donuts! They make their donuts fresh every morning and have probably 15-20 different flavors. They make both cake style and yeast donuts. While I’m typically more of a yeast donut fan (Krispy Kreme) I think that the maple pecan cake donut at Blue Ridge Bagels is the best in Lynchburg! But all of their donuts are super delicious. In the photo I attached of the donuts are the maple pecan, Boston cream, and raspberry filled. I think I paid around $11 for 5 bagels and 6 fresh donuts. You really can’t beat that!
There’s plenty of seating inside for you to dine in. They also have different spreads they make for the bagels, coffees, soups, sandwiches, and more. If you haven’t been, you have to go check them out!!
Blue Ridge Bagels is my husband and I’s favorite breakfast place in Lynchburg and overall!
Customer service is exceptional; always so kind! They have the best people!
We can count on their food being quality and consistent every time. Quite a variety of choices too, so we never grow tired of eating here, and we have not found a single thing on their menu we didn’t like so far. Their food is amazing! Amazing taste, great quality, and fresh, healthy ingredients.
And a great price too, for what you are getting. More reasonable than most other places, which is another reason we love coming here!!!
In summary: Great people, excellent food, all at an affordable price! Other places, we have found to be a hit-or-miss, but Blue Ridge Bagels delivers *every* time and has never once left us dissapointed!
Oh, and great Gluten Free selection as well! (Their GF bagels actually taste better than some other places’ regular bagels.)
Note to the owner(s): We especially loved the Red Pepper Gouda soup! Please keep making that more often! ❤
Our other favorites that we can recommend for anyone who is new:
– Any of their classic breakfast sandwiches
– The Bomb
– The Bully
– The Italian
– Smokey Mountain
– Their iced coffee (they freeze coffee to make their iced cubes, so your coffee won’t get watered down, like at other places, and you get your full cup’s worth!)
– Cookies & Cream Donut (our #1 favorite donut)
– Peanut Butter Donut (our #2 favorite donut)
– Any of their muffins/cookies
– Or even just any of their bagels with just cream cheese…
Hope this is helpful! 🙂
The bagels were shockingly excellent! We loved the jalapeño cream cheese and our kiddos gave high marks to the French toast bagel with Cinnamon CC. Highly recommend this spot!
The staff and owners are also extremely friendly and kind!
The prices are amazing too!
Update: I typo’d “expensive” instead of “expansive”. Corrected it.
As for the owner response, I did try a breakfast bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and it was delicious.
