We each got their sushi and sashimi sets, which were about $60 per person. We just had tap water, no cocktails or anything. My boyfriend thought it was really good, I thought it was average.
We’ve been to their SoHo location before and liked it, so we were excited to try this one. The atmosphere was nice and the service was decent.
Kind of disappointing because we generally like their food and have had good experiences at their other location.
It’s extra sad since it’s only 5 mins away from our apt and 10 mins walk from my workplace. We were really wanting to make this a regular spot, but guess we will never go back.
We are fond of the Blue Ribbon brand and has great dining experience in other locations. Now it is on our “do not go to / do not recommend” list. Shame.
So I went for lunch today and I must say that all the issues I had with the place the first time I went were COMPLETELY ironed out. First off, the service was impeccable. We mustve been asked at least 5x how everything was going. The lunch menu was delicious with a special award going to the bone marrow and oxtail appetizer. Truly an amazing dish. Drinks were expertly made and again the service was top notch. I will most definitely be back again.
Went for a breakfast meeting at the new AKA Hotel downtown. The service seemed unrefined. Waiters asking for orders twice, not delivering the right food to the right seat, etc.. The food however was good. The lox was fresh, the ham quiche was made well and the bacon and potato sides were good. However I don’t think I would return only because there are better places in the area.
