We’ve been waiting FOREVER for our food, even though the place isn’t busy. Ordered 45 minutes ago and after an hour got the “Mother Hen” meal — portion is super small. Food came out lukewarm, not hot. Chicken was pretty mid, waffle was yummy. Taste overall is okay (mom and gram liked it), but the timing and temperature were way off. Very disappointed.

I had a WONDERFUL experience today with my children. Coming here from Pittsburgh my children and I enjoyed our food and our waitress Lauren was great very attentive and patient. I will definitely be back . The music was awesome great vibes !

Found this place on Instagram and when we searched the address it was 6 minutes away heading in the direction we were going so you know good things were ahead.
We had the hash which was good. But the country fried steak and chicken and waffles…. Delicious! I would definitely come back here if I’m ever in the Hartford area again.

Atmosphere: 2/5. Great parking, music vibe on Sunday is good. Nothing had been cleaned in ever. All the light fixtures are so dusty that when the doors are open, the wind makes dust come down. All the plants decor have dust on them too. Flies all around.
Food: 4/5 for the donut board. Great presentation, the caramel and chocolate sides are good. The deep fried crisp is good texture wise but not the taste of old oil. The steak and eggs I give 2/5. Steak is over done and chewy (not edible). The eggs cooked to order but a surcharge appeared on the bill which didn’t make sense because I didn’t get eggs extra- they came with the order. The Latkes 5/5. Texture, flavor, presentation. All great. The chimichurri was even worse quality than the steak. The chimichurri was all butter and oil. I emptied it to see where the greens were. It was a gunky green stuck at the bottom. I didn’t even taste it because the appearance was off putting.
Eggs Benedict: 3/5. The home fries are well cooked and crispy. The grilled onions were good. Flavor on potatoes was all the way lacking. The corn bread was crisp and sweet. The eggs poached well. The hollandaise sauce curled badly. The corn beef was tooo salty and too mushy. It gave the texture of having been canned.
The pineapple juice was good. The coffee good. They have nondairy milk options for an upcharge.
Service: 5/5. The waitress was attentive and communicative. She checked in about the food and when i explained the above, she quickly accepted the feedback and acted.

BPK, As a place we typically recommend to friends and family who visit us, the fact that someone prepared this (food), packed it up (service), and sent it home with for a to go order is absolutely DIABOLICAL, not to mention there are things missing from the order. Not sure what’s going on here, but the last few times we’ve been it’s been something. We’re not even bringing this back, it’s not worth the time.

As a local West Hartford resident we have been going to Blue plate for the last several years. Over the last year this place has seriously gone downhill. I ordered takeout with a $3 up charge for French fries. This includes 6 fries ?! See image. Order was ready 15 minutes later then the recommended window pick up time. This is just unacceptable

When my boyfriend and I were sat at our table, I found a piece of bread on my seat, and the table still had crumbs that you could clearly see. They didn’t wipe the table down or even offer to do so which, as a server myself, put a bad taste in my mouth (1 star deducted). We ended up ordering 2 diet cokes. My boyfriends diet coke had a weird taste like the filter from the machine wasn’t clean so he opted for the sprite instead (1 star deducted). I then decided to order the caramel apple martini specifically because it had a cinnamon sugar rim. When my drink arrived, it was missing the one thing that would’ve made the whole drink come together and I was looking forward to: the cinnamon sugar rim (1 star deducted). I ordered the chicken and waffles which were AMAZING. I decided to add a star solely because of how fluffy the waffle was and how balanced the sweet and salty flavors were. My boyfriend got the big breakfast and said is was okay, but the potatoes were greasy, and mixing greasy potatoes, greasy bacon, greasy sausage, and eggs was a bit much. I overall, I gave my experience 3 because the only thing I truly enjoyed was the chicken and waffles. As a server, I would never, ever seat my guests at a dirty table or not offer to clean it.

Chicken and waffles was absolutely amazing!! The skin on it was caramelized and just delicious. They gave us a ton of food! Everything was seasoned great, I wouldn’t come here all the time if I lived closer!
