Worth coming out to Sapphire Village just to visit the Blue Nugget Bar. The food selection was excellent! I was impressed with their menu, a little bit of everything. The food is quality, smoked meats, homemade, fresh, and not your typical bar food… for which I was thankful! Try the cheese curds with maple syrup and bacon, so yummy! I got the smothered burrito in a small with their house smoked pork, comes with chips and homemade salsa, beans and rice. I got the small order and still couldn’t finish. Generous portions, delicious food, priced affordable and does not compromise quality, and EXCELLENT service. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

If you are in or anywhere near Hobson, please visit the Blue Nugget. Great food and drinks, amazing views, and the friendliest people. The owners Jim and Sharon and their daughter Tasha went above and beyond for us during our stay nearby. These are the kind of genuine people who deserve your support! Awesome place to stop. Worth going out to sapphire just to chat with these folks. They’re very knowledgeable about the area and fun to talk to. While you’re there sign a dollar for the wall and check out their very reasonable selection of local sapphires.

Excellent hospitality! We had booked a cabin in the woods a few miles away, but had to leave for unforeseen circumstances. We were hungry, it was too cold to tent-camp with little kids, and we were about 2 hours from home. On our way home, we stumbled into the Blue Nugget by chance, hoping to grab dinner. I thought my husband was joking when he said they had a kids play area, but he wasn’t. It’s a bar but they have a back room full of tables and kids toys (perfect for our under age 7 group). The food was excellent—the maple cheese curds and pork burrito were highlights. Great selection of teas and hot sauces. We loved looking at the sapphire jewelry that was displayed by the bar. We were talking to our server about how we had to unexpectedly drive home that night, and she asked us if we wanted to stay in their cabins. It was such a surprise—they just happened to have a couple of cabins on the property that perfectly fit our family. They were clean and warm and cozy. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again next time we camp this way!

Good prices on average bar food. Great service for a small bar. The bartender yelled “No dogs allowed” when I brought in our service dog. But he didn’t kick us out. He was very busy as a thirsty biker group had arrived. No Family restroom available. Overall just an average Montana rural bar.

Jim and his lovely wife are incredible. As we do every October on our way back from Eastern Montana, my son Daniel and I stopped for breakfast on Sunday.

Excellent food, drinks, and service! This place is an absolute MUST! if you are in the area. Just outside the Lewis and Clark National Forest. I had the patty melt with tots and could only eat half, having the rest for dinner later.

Our first time in Sapphire Village and visiting the Blue Nugget. We loved it here. Delicious food and friendly owners. Our kids loved the toys they had and asked to come back to play! We will definitely be back every time we visit Montana!!!

Came in here on a whim, and absolutely loved the hospitality and friendship we found! Susan the bar tender was great! Ended up trying breakfast, lunch, and dinner while staying at the Judith forest service cabin.
