We went a few weeks ago and it was pretty bad. The wait not too long maybe 15 mins. It was a bit weird to wait though because there were obvious tables open for everyone in line. Once we were seated our table wobbled so bad at one point another waitress had to push our condiment basket back on the table because it was about to fall. Our waitress spoke very little english. I could not understand what little english she did speak both me and and husband had to explain the multi appetizer 10 times. She had to go back and ask twice. She also did not understand my food order and brought fried porkchops not smothered, and a roll not cornbread. Both were fixed. She was not very attentive to the table in refilling drinks. She also brought one to go container for a table of 3. The rest of the staff were like zombies, never a smile, hardly greeting their tables. The food was good except the blue mound fries were pretty pathetic and plain and the fried pickles were the grosses soggy fried pickles i’ve ever eaten. we couldn’t finish either. The chicken fried steak and smother pork chops were really good. Crispy, full of flavor, would get that again. Once we finished we went to the front to pay for our meal. The Lady very loudly asked if we wanted to tip and how much. Repeated my tip back to me and asked if I was sure. I found that extremely rude. I am more than capable of entering in my own tip. It seemed like they were trying to embarrass people into larger tips. We seldom eat out, this was a pretty disappointing experience. At this point I don’t think we would go back, maybe if they survive the next year we will try them again and give an update.

Firstly, I know this is a new establishment so obviously there’s going to be hiccups in the few weeks of operation. I am also an honest reviewer so I’ll elaborate on my experience as follows.
We arrived and had to wait for our name to be called to sit down so that took 35 + minutes then we were able to get a table, (waiter was friendly) , ordered our food then waited well over an hour to receive our meals. The quality of food was mediocre and the waiter apologized plenty of times for the wait. I was hoping for a meal that delivered unique flavors in their own unique way however it was just basic food. We ordered water however The waiter came out with a tea and asked if we wanted it since it was ordered by mistake so I said yes if you’re just going to throw it away. Long story short, we got charged for that tea..
I’m sure over time this restaurant will acclimate and deliver better food at a quicker pace so I’ll give them grace.

This is a great place. The reviews are ridiculous. If you want fast service you should look at the parking lot before walking in. If it’s full, you will have a long wait, smh. I’ve eaten at 2 of their locations and both are amazing. Hiring good staff is hard because younger gen were not “raised”. You can’t teach common sense and customer service on the job. Yes, the girls that are seating need to tell people how long it will take to get fed not to get seated. I think the reviews need to be on the parents of these kids waiting tables. Blue mound cafe doesn’t have 6 locations cause they don’t serve good food, it’s because they are the best besides mommas cooking and to cook good food takes time. Give them patience and understanding before reviewing. If the lobby is full of people, you can bet it’s gonna be an hour or more before getting to eat.

If I could give zero stars for all I would. Completely horrendous behavior by managers. Got sat after waiting for 45 minutes with a whole bunch of tables open but that would be because the kitchen takes about an hour and 30 minute to make a simple hamburger and fries. The food was good by the time it got to me it wasn’t enough food because I was more hungry. I would not recommend eating at this place or supporting and giving money to this business absolutely horrendous. I will not be surprised if they get closed within the next few weeks zero out of 10 go to some other restaurants and watch how it’s ran and take notes before you think you can open up one.

the food is fantastic, but the wait is ridiculous!! both waiting to be seated and waiting on our food.. majority of staff are friendly and kind besides the older hostess.
i’ll probably return, but i hope the customer service from her and the overall efficiency is needing to be improved.

We waited to get seated like 15 min which was okay but when we ordered our food it took over 45 min to get it. The waiter only came once to ask if we were okay but never came back. We had to get up and go get our own check to be able to pay. The food was meh and the pancakes were cold and burnt. Hope they can turn things around

Waited 45 min for food. They boast about being home cooked but the shrimp are definitely pre frozen from a box just like the kind you can get at Walmart, they even admitted that to us. Waitress barely checked on us. Tea tasted old. The buns on my sliders was hard. Then the lady who checked us out was very rude and never apologized for how long we waited all she had to say was “you know this is only our 3rd day open right”.

Went on 02/10 around 11:30 am. Our server was Gracie I believe. Long long wait for our food probably over 50 minutes. No apologies about wait time, no checking in on if we needed more refills during our long wait or anything. To make matters worse, at checkout I went to the front and their card reader did not work. I asked them to try again which they did. Still did not work. So I ask them to try another card reader to which they reply they don’t have one. So you’re telling me in that whole entire restaurant only one card reader! Nuts don’t bother hiring a second cashier if only one card reader works. Also…. That is the restraunt’s problem not mine… to which they offered no remedy. I had a little cash on me that day and left but the restaurant should have comped my meal for their problem. That’s their problem – not a me problem. If I had not had cash, what was your resolution? Should have offered that resolution instead of making me struggle looking for ones and quarters. Maybe they were having an “offline” moment sure- those things happen, but you need to be able to remedy the situation.

Dinner was delicious. We had chicken fried steak and the meatloaf. Portions were large! Food was great. Server was attentive and welcoming. Total experience was amazing. Will definitely be back!

Have eaten here twice and the food is amazing. It’s a new restaurant, they have a ton more seating than the old one. Naturally it can be a little busy and slow but I’m confident it will be a staple!
