Came to Brattleboro for a concert… will leave thinking about the best made from scratch pasta I’ve ever had eating out. The pasta was light and sauced to perfection!
I ordered the linguine carbonara and my partner had the pappardelle. I may have licked the bowl clean.
Oh and don’t leave without dessert! The lemon cake was divine!
Go with plenty of time… but it’s worth it!

Wow! I love this place and make sure I visit everytime I am in Vermont. Ken, the owner, and chef, takes good care of me. It’s an intimate cozy place, with an open kitchen, and I love sitting at one of the small tables “in” the window that I can people watch on Main St. The food is remarkable, authentic Italian, like your Nonna would make. Totally hooked on the Pappardelle, especially in the spring and summer as it is so light and refreshing. But last time, I tried the Fettucine Carbonara, and while it is your basic Italian staple, this was prepared to perfection–one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my adult life.

Delicious Italian food! Fresh bread and dipping oil was a fabulous start. Meatballs were moist, tasty and tender with delightful sauce. Entrees burst with flavor! Wine pairing was perfect. Come and enjoy a wonderful Italian meal.

I was here for a early dinner after my 5hr train trip, found this place right across the hotel. It did not disappoint at all. I work at an Italian restaurant in Brooklyn NY, and let me tell you this food is delicious. I tried the special salad with watermelon, cantaloupe and cucumber (so refreshing), what’s even best is that they offer warm delicious bread with oil before your meal arrives. The lady that took my order was very gentle and sweet, they were a little busy but they did their best and i really enjoyed it. I will totally come back. 🙂 Thanks

This was my first time at this little restaurant. The server was sweet but a bit of a space shot.
The food was phenomena! We all were really impressed. Ken, the chef, actually brought some of the food to the table. Every bit of our food, including desert, was excellent.

Cant say I would recommend Blue Moose. We arrived for dinner at 7ish and the place was packed. It looked like some tables had been waiting quite some time for food. The restaurant is oddly arranged and badly in meed of updating. The servers had significant issues juat navigating from table to table due to the layout, too many tables in a small room. Agter 20 minutes a table cleared up, after another 15 we were brought water and menus. By the time we had both finished our waters no one had been by to take our drink orderor tell us about the menu. We probably waited 40 minutea before we got up and simply left.

Travellers, this restaurant is a gem in the heart of downtown Brattleboro. Everything we had was delicious and expertly prepared. The chef uses fine ingredients and it shines through in his Italian food. The cacio y pepe was excellent and used fine pecorino romano. The spaghetti and meatballs were delicious too. We recommend you try the pesto and the steak piziaolo, which were both delicious in a serious way. The sides, which are often neglected in some restaurants, shine bright at blue buffalo. And the Italian fries are delightful, a scene stealer. The mozzarella sticks were delicious and the calamari was tasty and crispy but still tender. The Caesar salad was also wonderful, good cheese and real anchovies! Dessert was also wonderful, the kids loved the fudgie brownie came with a marvelous vanilla ice cream. For me the the homemade carrot cake was the perfect way to end the meal. This was a wonderful Italian restaurant that had a great selection the ability to execute it all well. Check it out. We definitely recommend.

They were short staffed the night we visited on our anniversary, and somehow still impressed with very kind and proactive service. The food was next level delicious, and although the day was rather gloomy, the mood lighting and the view of the old theater across the street made it feel cinematic.
