We had an extraordinary time at Blue Moon. We came in within an hour of close and there was one table left in the restaurant. The host was super sweet and got us situated right away. Our server was knowledgeable and lovely. She gave great recommendations and timely service. The food was incredible. We are big foodies and really picky when leaving reviews. This was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time. The tuna was able to be made just seared or cooked all the way through. My seared tuna over smashed sweet potatoes was perfect. My daughter had the French onion soup and oysters which were exactly what she was craving. The dessert Pecan Tree cocktail was exquisite, not too sweet. The manager checked on us just enough to ensure we had the best time. I would highly recommend this 1800s historic venue to anyone looking for a lovely and satisfying evening.

Blue Moon is a true gem In Beaufort. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly. The food was exquisite. We sampled the foi grass, fried green tomatoes, and the fried oysters on blue cheese rice. We honestly could not come to a conclusion on which was best. The Tender Elk was my favorite entree with Shrimp Etoufe coming in second. Lovely place to wind down your evening, enjoy a wonderful meal and beautiful cocktails.

We had reservations for 5:15 on a Saturday night. It didn’t seem necessary for reservations until closer to 6. Staff were all incredibly friendly and great recommendations. We started off with bread and it had a phenomenal orange marmalade butter served with it. Followed by charbroiled oysters and lobster bisque which were both great. My husband got the elk steak special and I had the scallops and bacon. The elk was good, but the scallops and bacon was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We followed that with creme brûlée and the salted caramel cheesecake. Overall, a fantastic meal. Pricey, but worth it for a special occasion! I would definitely come back.

On our minivavation, we had two beautiful dinners at the Blue Moon. It is now one of our favorite restaurants. The food is outstanding. The menu is full of great choices. Daily specials take advantage of fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxted and welcoming. Service is knowledgable and attentive without being intrusive. Michelle is particularly wonderful in this reagard. There is space to relax and enjoy your dinner and your companions. TOP choice.

Prices were expensive, and although the menu and ingredients are top notch, the execution is not.
As an example- French onion soup. I thought it was tasty, but my wife (a french onion soup lover) pointed out that it was thick and creamy and had no sherry (or at least it didn’t taste like it) in it. It was more beefy than onion soup.
I had the fish special (tile fish) and it was good, my wife had the filet off the menu and it was OK, but it was rather small, over cooked on the edges and had a piece of grizzle in the middle. Certainly not worth the price on the menu.
Overall decent food, great ambiance and service, located downtown- so great location. If Beaufort Grocery or the City Kitchen are full, come here.

I absolutely love Blue Moon!! SO good. last time I went there was over the summer (forgot to post a review earlier whoops!) but I got their lamb chops special and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. not exaggerating. 10/10 finished the whole plate in probably 10 minutes. finished it off with some tiramisu that was JUST as good. love their beignets too. my phone always eats first except when i’m here… it’s too good not to eat right away. also very close to the waterfront! servers and hostesses are always welcoming! it’s a must do if in the area!
