My daughter has a soy allergy, and finding safe baked goods is usually impossible. Most of the time, her only option has been frozen products from the grocery store. This bakery is about a 30-minute drive for us, but it is well worth it. The variety they offer all gluten-free and clearly labeled for multiple allergens, is something we rarely see.
They use a simple, effective color-coded system to label allergens. Each product sits on a piece of colored paper, and each color represents a specific allergen: green for plant-based, blue for dairy, yellow for egg, orange for soy, and red for tree nut/coconut. If a product contains more than one allergen, it will have multiple colors beneath it. This made it quick and easy to spot which items were safe for my daughter.
Their selection is huge! Donuts, bagels, danishes, apple fritters, cookies, cupcakes, English muffins, specialty breads, pizzas, calzones, even pre-made meals like lasagna and macaroni and cheese. We spent about $100 and brought home bagels, danishes, apple fritters, and donuts, all fresh and made that day.
The staff was friendly, answered all my questions, and never made me feel rushed, even though they were busy. Most importantly, my daughter has already eaten three donuts and a danish with no reaction, proving that their allergen labels are accurate and trustworthy.

WOW. I randomly found this place when I was in town and decided to come get just a doughnut. I can’t even believe there’s no eggs or dairy in this. It’s the best gluten-free donut I have ever had and I’m a gluten-free bakery freak ya’ll. It’s light, yeasty, and springy with a touch of chew to the dough. The gentlemen working behind the counter, told me they’re made fresh every day. I’m excited to come back when I’m in this part of Denver again!

My husband has gluten/dairy/egg/soy intolerances. It’s been nearly impossible to find him any kind of bread or bun that fits them all, tastes good and isn’t so heavy and so dense that it’s hard to chew! Blue Hummingbird you’ve done it!! He is SO happy with everything he’s tried! The rolls and buns let him eat a sandwich or a burger again! The bread makes perfect toast. I so appreciate the customer service. I constantly forget about leaving review! The palce is great, there’s so much stuff there… from breads and buns, through pies, cupcakes, and donuts, to frozen meals like breakfast bakes or quiche, gluten free pasta, flour, and other goodies.
So far, everything I tried was great, I love the Boston Cream donuts and cinnamon rolls, and I absolutely adore the cheddar and bacon bagel – you can eat it straight, without anything, it’s that good.
A lot of the things are on par with gluten versions. I’ve been here a few times now, and of course, I will be back for more.
The staff is super friendly too 🙂
PS: Funnily enough, so far, I found only one dedicated gluten free bakery that would be better. It’s crazy outstanding (food wins with gluten ones 100% of the time), but it’s based on O’ahu, so for now, let’s stay with our awesome Denver one 😉

I can’t say enough great things about this place! First and foremost: THE FOOD!! A true joy! Everything i’ve tried here is so delicious and wonderful. The breakfast sandwiches are my kryptonite. I look forward to them any time i buy from here. Just so delicious. The bagels and the pies… donuts.. i mean everything is so great! and to top it off, Doug and his wife are truly so wonderful! Such kind people!! I had a situation recently where i accidentally was given the wrong sandwich pack and when i contacted them about it, not only did Doug handle the mishap personally. But he also followed up with me to make sure he could resolve it. You can truly tell they care about their customer service and their business !! Would recommend this business and food to anyone

I wanted gluten free treats for my team as several people need them including 1 with celiac. I got multiple flavors of cinnamon rolls and fruit pastries. They were all delicious. Doug was so helpful and kind. It was my first time in the store so he walked me through everything. It was nice to be able to give the gf people something besides chocolate chip cookies from the regular grocery store. We will shop here again.

This is not a sit down and eat type of place- it’s a shop! They have everything your gluten free heart could ever desire! My only feedback is that they use almond flavoring in their cinnamon rolls instead of vanilla and I wasn’t a huge fan of that. Wonder if it was the flavor I got and that’s not what they always do? Everything else tasted great though and the texture of everything was great! Very busy little shop, for good reason!

Delicious gluten breads and sweets.
Great customer service.
The ladies are super friendly.
My only complaint is they do not offer paper bags, everything is wrapped in plastic. For people who try to avoid microplastics it would be great to offer paper wrapping or bags.
Also, for a lot of the breads to not say most , too many “modified” ingredients which it makes me think they use GMO’s.
I hope I’m wrong about it.
I’ll pay extra to get organic and GMO ingredients.
