My mom and I ate lunch here on a Wednesday and saw plenty of folks enjoying burgers and sandwiches. We opted for a couple of appetizers which were outstanding!
Service was unmatched. Our waitress was genuinely kind, helpful and efficient. It was clear she enjoys the job! She even let my mom borrow her reading glasses to read the menu. What a gem!
The baked potato skins were amazing and the pork belly wraps…delicious!
The bathroom was clean, decor was fun. What a great experience!

Found this gem, the parking is good and there’s plenty of room inside. We ordered a Ribeye and the Blue Crab ravioli. The food was delicious, the have a nice cocktail menu as well as cocktails, and our server was really nice and helpful.

If you’re looking for something better than the typical bar and grill, The Blue Duck is it. The food feels truly home-cooked and thoughtfully prepared—not just fried and rushed. The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is calm, mature, and pleasantly lively. It’s adults-only. Highly recommend.

I’ve had a plethora of strokes so I enjoy lying a little bit more than most. I was at The Establishment 4 years ago. They had good food but it was hard to be here with all the cigarette smoke recently. There are new under new ownership. It’s clean. Doesn’t smell like cigarettes. The staff is phenomenal. The food is top notch pants down must experience for yourself!

We love love love coming to Blue Duck, food is always delicious and service is fantastic and personable! The only suggestion is that it is always so very cold in the dining room. I have to eat in my heavy coat or bring a sweater in the summer. A wood stove or some wall heaters in the back there would make our dining event absoluteley perfect!!!

The food was great but the soda’s had an underlying sulphur taste to my diet Pepsi. My wife’s soda had a similar taste, but not as strong, so ordered a water.
My wife got the chicken Alfredo and loved it. Said it’s her new favorite place to eat in Prineville. I had the crispy chicken sando and it was excellent. We will return, just hope they get rid of the sulphur tasting soda.
Everything else was great

Update 2/2025. Still awesome.
A combination of great food and great service makes Blue Duck awesome. A clean bar atmosphere for adults only to enjoy a cocktail or beer. Food was fresh prepared with good quality and big portions. A great beer selection or cocktails too. Perfect for lunch or a full dinner. Poker in the rear if you’re interested. Ample off street parking. Prices are as expected. I’ll be back for lunch or dinner whenever I’m in Prineville.

The ambience is that of a cute little bar out in the middle of nowhere kind of like a clean roadhouse almost. The waitstaff is friendly and polite. The place is clean and it is definitely off the beaten path ,went in after seeing the menu online The boyfriend found it for date night.Thought this would be an amazing place. We had a couple of drinks. He had a Modelo and I had a mixed drink. The drinks were great. We ordered the steak tips appetizer , sauce was flavorful. The steak tips themselves were lackluster very tough and chewier than a rubber ball , I have had rubber bands less chewy. The steaks themselves tasted over cooked , old and again very tough. Very chewy , I would not recommend them. We also ordered the French dip and I ordered a south of Central Oregon burger or something like that. I don’t remember the exact name. The burger was good. Had a lot of flavor. The French dip had for a French dip had way too much going on the bread was hard and burned on the French dip. I’m not talking just a little charred It was actually burned around the edges the meat again tough, and chewy no flavor in that that might be why they put the crispy onions and barbecue sauce on a French dip, which a French dip should be classically meat bun as you all of the sauce and crispy onions that they put on the French dip, even after dipping it into au ju you couldn’t Taste the au ju. Which drastically took away from the whole French dip experience and the burger like I said was good. The fries were good. The star of the entire meal was the fry sauce. Which was amazing. Best fry sauce I’ve had anywhere, and I don’t normally do fry sauce. The first issue we did have was when they brought us our waters. I went to have a drink of mine and the cup was broken along the rim, and that happened to be where I had taken a drink so the broken part hit my lip first, the waitress said oh sorry about that. Let me get you another glass of water. She never brought me another glass of water but overall it was. The ambience was great. The fry sauce was amazing. My burger was like I said my burger was good. Definitely steer clear of any steaks and we will probably not be returning to the blue duck especially since after visiting there there’s been some gastrointestinal distress. I only had a couple of bites of my burger and I had more steak tips than anything else so I’m thinking it was something in the steak tips.
