The menu has plenty of variety — if one dish doesn’t tempt you, there are lots of other solid options waiting. My picks? The crab imperial stuffed whole lobster (the showstopper ), garlic spinach, and a side Caesar salad. I also tried the shrimp and crab cake combo with French onion soup — all hits.
But let’s talk about that lobster. The crab imperial stuffed whole lobster was rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth it. And Mondays? They offer 1 lb whole lobsters for $10 while they last. Whew! A win is a win.
Great food, great service, and plenty of parking. I’ll definitely be back — probably on a Monday.
My husband and I discovered Blue Dolphin on social media. We didn’t know anyone personally who had been there, but the photos and buzz convinced us to give it a try. We are so glad we did.
We drove about 40 minutes and arrived without reservations. That part was on us. We didn’t realize how strongly reservations are recommended. The wait was about an hour, but it was completely worth it. The restaurant was packed, which told us right away that this place is well loved.
While we were waiting, we noticed something special. The owner, Mr. Pete, was actively involved at the front desk. He checked the waiting list, greeted guests, and spoke to many customers by name. You could immediately tell he has built real relationships with his clientele. There were several birthday celebrations happening, and the energy in the lobby felt warm and welcoming.
Once seated, we were taken care of by our server, Louie. He was attentive, knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely kind. Excellent service makes a big difference, and Louie absolutely delivered.
Now the food. Phenomenal. We ordered seafood platters, and the portions were enormous. They start you off with warm bread and butter, which set the tone. The seafood was fresh, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The portions were so generous that we had enough left over to enjoy brunch the next day. For the quality and quantity, the pricing was very reasonable.
The drinks were excellent, the ambiance was lively yet comfortable, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations.
Blue Dolphin is clearly a local favorite for a reason. We will absolutely be back. And next time, we will definitely make reservations.
Highly recommend.
Food was hot. Wonderful atmosphere . Went every Easter for about 6 years before the pandemic. Usually it was about 25 of us. Great service.
Good food steaks, shrimp, chops and scallops.
So many items ordered. All were happy and satisfied. Our bill was $700+. We always tipped $200.
Only complaint is we were so full we could not taste the beautiful cakes on display. We did order a few pieces for take out.
