Honestly, it was okay. I called in to order, and the girl on the phone was incredibly friendly. It was a simple phone call, and the girl assured me it would take 15 minutes. When I went to pick it up, they weren’t really busy, so it was a quick pick-up, which is nice. However, when I got home and looked at my food, it was a bit disappointing. The bread was incredibly small, and there was so much bacon that it wasn’t a good ratio. On top of that, half of the bacon was burnt, and I know some people like that, but for me, it felt inedible. I also ordered fried pickles, and some of them weren’t fully cooked. They still had raw batter when I took a bite. It’s a bar, so my expectations weren’t too high, but it was still a bit disappointing.

We stopped in mid-day on a summer Sunday and there were only a handful of other customers in the restaurant.
First the good – we had a friendly waitress and great service.
Now the hard part, I hate giving bad reviews for food but I ordered a BLT and it was horrible. I thought it sounded like a great summer day sandwich but was disappointed. When you think of BLT’s you imagine a mix of the juice from the tomatoes and mayo dripping down your chin. Not here. The sandwich was served dry – ask for mayo. The bacon was overcooked to the point where it wasn’t strips but crumbles. There was way too much lettuce and the pieces were not torn to fit the bread, which was too small for the sandwich. The most disappointing part was, however, the tomato – a super thin slice – barely perceptible.
If you try Blue Coyote, try something other than the BLT.

I have always loved coming to blue coyote when I visit Truckee but lately it’s felt like a different place – the vibes are off. I found out it changed ownership from a local owner to some lame investment bro wannabes from more South cali. The food quality has gone down hill (probably to save $ but still charging a lot for what you get), the drinks feel watered down, and the staff who were consistently there over the years have left in droves for greener pastures. It doesn’t feel the same which sucks because it has been a staple location for me for years. Disappointing and won’t be returning!

Blue Coyote has nailed the sports bar experience. Plenty of TVs, great food, and cold beer. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a great place to cheer on your team. The staff is super efficient and friendly. Can’t ask for more than that! We’ll be back next weekend.

Don’t let the strip retail center vibe fool you. This place is pretty good! You seat yourself. The waitress usually comes to greet you within a couple minutes. There are a million tv’s with every kind of sport showing. You literally can’t go wrong with wings, burgers or pizza. I had the Jalisco Cheesesteak this last time and it was delicious.

Then I come pick up my food I already paid for and get kicked out for being rude only for trying to pick up my food o had already paid for that clearly their own mistake for giving my food to someone else????? Had a nice lunch with a party of 12. Our server got all our orders, brought out drinks and food without having anyone waiting long. Typical bar/grill food. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger which was tasty and cooked to my liking. Good food and atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon, thank you.

I order mango habanero wings (the spiciest they have, they still aren’t, but the flavor is very good) and pizza (delicious).
