I had been hearing about this place and I think I need to go back and try more food. We got a bunch of tacos and margaritas but I was looking around and saw other meat and fish dishes that looked really good. Overall my carnitas tacos seemed full of fat instead of meat… I tried the blue tacos but I can’t judge as I don’t think they’re for me. The drinks tasted good.

We arrived and found that it’s only cash. They really only speak Spanish here. Took over 30 minutes to get our food. Atmosphere is alright. Normal hard chairs. Food was amazing and big portion sandwich. The Cuban and ham amd cheese are pictured

I don’t think there are enough good things I can say about Blue Corn! The drinks were great and the food was simply amazing. We started with the Ofrenda de los Dioses as an appetizer since it was something we hadn’t seen before on other menus and it did not disappoint! We also got three different types of tacos to share (tripe, cabeza (beef cheek), and a special for the day of soft shell crab. I can honestly say I’ve never really cared much for tripe (usually because of the texture), but those tripe tacos are truly something special and are the best tacos I’ve ever had anywhere! The tripe tacos melt in your mouth and are seasoned to perfection. I can’t wait to return and try more!

Visiting Philly and was told to try this in the Italian district. Food came extremely fast, tacos are def the move (burrito was good but could’ve involved more spices/seasoning), good fries, great atmosphere, and would go back! Either bring cash or card for their ATM if dine in

The carnitas burrito was one of the best I’ve ever had! It was very fresh and tasty. I give it a 5/5. Blue Corn used peas and carrots and the rice and they added some nice flavor.

My girlfriend thinks this is the best food we’ve ever had in Philadephia. I think it might be the best food I’ve ever had at all. She had a fish special with fried plantains on the side, the fried plantains were delicious and the fish was prepared beautifully. I had the Tampiqueña and it was truly the most well composed plate I’ve ever experienced. The mole sauce and guacamole were perfectly balanced to complement the filet mignon. The steak was a gorgeous medium rare that was juicy and well seared. They were kind and accommodating of my girlfriend’s mobility issue due to her injury. This restaurant is cash-only and definitely on the more expensive side of Mexican food (drinks, appetizer, entrees and dessert were around $130,) but for the best Mexican food I’ve had since growing up in California, it will be worth it every time.

Fantastic overall experience. The food is authentic, the service is exceptional, the ingredients are fresh. Overall there is almost nothing that can be improved in the restaurant. I understand that the team doesn’t want to accept cards (I docked one star). But, it would be fantastic if they would accept Paypal / Venmo or even standard bank transfer…. It’s always a pain to remember to carry your debit card.

Lots of Mexican places in this area. Blue Corn has decent food, very polite service, and the outside seating is definitely a plus in good weather. If you’re in the Italian Market area and want a quick bite, this is not a bad choice.
