I found this place by chance, I just wanted to fill up the car nearby. I went inside just to see what was interesting here and immediately realized that I wanted to have dinner here. A huge selection of food, everything is very tasty. Excellent steaks, delicious pastries. I’ve never seen such huge eclairs. Prices are very affordable!

On a cold January day we decided to just take a drive. My daughter and I love diners and this diner was about 45 minutes away from us. We took the back roads just to get out of the house for a while. We pulled into this diner and were surprised to see how massive it was. The lot and the building itself was kept in pristine condition. We were greeted and quickly brought to a table. Kelly was our waitress. We had a lot of fun with her. She was very knowledgeable and very truthful at the same time. One thing that we noticed was at the restaurant was extremely clean. There was Chrome around the windows and there was not one fingerprint or spot of dust on them and it was very much noticed and very much appreciated. While looking over the extensive menu, my daughter chose a stuffed pork loin and I chose chicken shish kabob. We ordered potato pancakes to start which we thought were a tad expensive for the little pancakes that we got that were probably 2 in in diameter and there were five of them. They were good and they were served with applesauce. We then ended up choosing soup and salad to go with our meal and bread. The bread was absolutely delicious. My daughter ordered a chicken soup and I ordered a matzo ball soup. They were both fantastic. The salad was fresh and the Italian dressing that we ordered which was creamy was absolutely delicious. When our meal came the shish kebab it was cooked exactly how I ordered it and it had such wonderful flavor. And my daughter who ordered the pork loin really enjoyed her dinner as well. She had mashed potatoes and broccoli au gratin. She allowed me to try both and they were just like homemade. They were phenomenal. Kelly. Our waitress was extremely attentive. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Valentine’s Day and Kelly offered to take a photo of us in their big balloon heart in the background of the restaurant, which we did. When we finished our meals we looked at their bakery counter which was completely filled with fresh baked goods. My daughter and I took home most of our meals which I am enjoying now. While I write this Google review. We also took home two desserts. I took home elephant ears and a whoopie pie and my daughter took home a cinnamon walnut roll and elephant ears. This is a diner that I would definitely come back to. We had a wonderful time there. The food was amazing. The place was spotless and the service was very friendly. I absolutely loved the Blue colony diner and we will come back here often even if it is a 45-minute drive from home.

Let me start this by saying that I have only posted a review once in my life.

During the blizzard (2/23/26), I ended up stuck in the parking lot overnight in my truck, so I had the opportunity to eat there twice.

The first night, I ordered the salmon. It came with a salad, soup, side and potato according to the menu. I asked for French onion soup, side salad, broccoli au gratin and baked potato. The broccoli never came. The soup had no flavor. The salmon was not seasoned, the salad was just iceberg lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes, and the baked potato was cold. So cold, in fact, that the butter didn’t melt at all. I asked to have it warmed, and it came back the same. I was very disappointed.

The second meal was a bacon cheeseburger. They served me a thin frozen patty. No seasoning. I expected a toasted bun, but I got a cold one instead. They forgot to add the bacon, so I asked for it. They gave me old cold bacon. The lettuce was wilted and the tomatoes were not fresh at all.

I looked around, and I noticed that others were sending back food. I believe that the cook is either overworked or just lazy. One thing for sure is that there is no pride in their product. I spent $50 on two meals. I swear that I have had better at McDonald’s. I’m not exaggerating. Hopefully, it gets better.

Amazing and delicious. Dinos like this used to be all over connecticut, southern connecticut. That is, but after fake covid, closing everything down. Now, these darners aren’t open twenty four hours.Except this one!!!! The pastries are huge and amazing. They have great challah bread huge loaves and delicious. Everything i’ve ever had there has been wonderful, and the owners are very kind. And truly want their customers to be happy.I suggest if you’re on eighty four in or around newtown, connecticut stop at exit ten.I believe route six newtown and check it out. It’s amazingEspecially if you’re traveling at night!!!! I apologize about the photos and the food being partly eaten before I took them, but I was so excited when I saw the food and by the way, that’s duck, half of a duck plus a salad plus potato plus vegetables plus bread, which is the challah bread by the way and the matza ball soup, the best matzaball soup.I’ve ever had for eighteen dollars, and something cents. And the grilled cheese was perfect. My wife had that. The gyro was deliciousSaid the friend that sat across from me, who, when I said, there’s a diner in such and such place, he said, why would I go anywhere else?I have the blue colony diner. He lives in a town right near there. And it’s true!!!

Wonderful!! What a treat! Awesome place with great food and really nice people serving us there. The salad was very good and the Clam Chowder was fantastic! The Pot Roast with pancake potatoes were as good as grandma used to make. My serving was easily a two portion meal. Huge menu selections.

Been a couple years since I came here and brought my family this time to try it. The food was still pretty good and depending on what you ordered the portion was very generous too. Price went up but it has been a couple years. Our first waitress seemed in a bit of a hurry but we had a wonderful little Spanish lady that helped us after, she was great. We brought some desserts home, the strawberry short cake unfortunately was not a hit, but the cheesecake was amazing. A very strong cheese flavor that made it not need any topping. Put off my partner but the rest of us loved it. Would come again and bring new people.

Ordered a chicken pesto panini sandwich. Pesto sauce missing on sandwich and received a cup of pure oil. Overall Panini not worthy of charging someone for a meal. I could have made this at home. Absolutely lifeless.
Ordered glass of red wine and given in dirty glass.

We stopped on our way through to PA for lunch. Plenty of parking! We were seated immediately. The waitress, Kelly, was pleasant and professional. I don’t think she knew quite how to react to my jovial side, but that’s fine. We were seated right next to the baked goods – and there were lots of them! My hubby got a slice of cheesecake after his meal. The menu was extensive & it was helpful that the foods were divided by meals (breakfast, lunch, & dinner.) We ordered our meals and they were served quickly. The food was good. It’s a great place for a meal right off of exit 10 off of I84!

It breaks my heart to say this, but the hot chocolate was disgusting. And the banana walnut pancake felt more like a trial run than a finished dish. That said, these items don’t seem to be what most people come here for. On a positive note, the atmosphere is wonderful, inviting, and truly enjoyable.

Place is a great value and good quality food. Service is good in a classic diner environment. We were too full to try desserts but they all looked good.
