This place has been around for a while. It needs a boost with some new menu items. It wasn’t very busy on a Friday night. The house margarita isn’t too good so I switched to an upgraded one, and it was an improvement.

Really good food. I wish my Chile Rellenos was a bit hotter in temp when it came out (kind of lost a lot of the crispness by the time it reached the table). The portions here are massive! I’d definitely come again – steak chimichangas are good too!

Service was amazing. I had the chicken chimichanga and a pork tamale. Banana margarita was good. The green chili and salsa are not spicy at all which is amazing for me since I am wimpy with spice. The chicken had great flavor and the green chili was really tasty!

Food caters to a very specific demographic. Tortilla was not cooked. Rice and beans were cold. Cheese on top wasn’t melted on top of the beans. Green Chile was ok flavor wise but extremely runny. Ordered a Carne Asada burrito. Meat was nicely cooked, but the veggies were still mostly raw. They do a mix of white onions and red onions for the fajita mix, which was fine but just strange. For a long time instution in Denver I would have guessed their food was actually good. Overpriced for what you get.

I’m so very sorry but that was the worst Mexican food we’ve ever eaten and we’ve eaten as we lived in Texas and visited Mexico many times. Go for a cold beer on the patio and appreciate the good service but literally go anywhere else for the Mexican food. It’s completely tasteless. I’m not sure how they accomplish that – the queso, the salsa, the tacos (fish, chicken or pork) were all equally tasteless .

The staff are amazing and friendly. My family and I enjoyed the food and the drinks. The food is so delicious. The chips and salsa appetizer are delicious and addicting . My family and I loved the service and the food at this restaurant. We ordered the fajitas and the tacos, again, it was delicious. As a matter of fact, I was going to take pictures of the food but completely forgot because the food looked so deliciously ,when it was put on the table. I think what I love most, are the open doors and the ventilation. We will be returning to this restaurant.

I have tried multiple times to like the Blue Bonnet restaurant, but just cannot seem to get what other people love about this place. The mole tasted like it was from a box you can buy in the grocery store, lacking flavor and complexity as one would expect from well made mole. Beans were fairly pedestrian and the rice was flavorless. The chicken and the enchiladas I ordered was dry, stringy, and chewy. I cannot argue that this is a very popular restaurant with some massively dedicated fans that I don’t want to anger. It just seems that I have a different standard or experience with authentic Mexican food that disagrees with what they serve here. I will definitely be back as part of a group a passionate Blue Bonnet lovers, but I’m not likely to go back on my own accord.

Solid Amerimex. Stuffed Poblanos are a crowd pleaser, but I had to try the quesabirria tacos. They were on the more expensive side, 2/$20, and while not my favorite in Denver, they were pretty solid. The margaritas are another big draw, with a LOT of flavor options, though I didn’t try one this visit.
