Old-school diner serves hefty portions of breakfast fare, burgers & made-from-scratch desserts.

It has been a minute since I’ve been to an old-school New York dinner, and the Blue Bay Dinner didn’t disappoint. The food was good. The Chicken and Waffles were just delicious. The Waffles were perfectly cooked but the star of the show was the Buttermilk Chicken. The Chicken was flavorful and juicy. I never had Red Cabbage Coleslaw before but I really enjoyed it. It was sweet without being overpowering. The Cappuccino was heavenly.

Nice local diner. The prices were higher than average but the servings were huge. Service was very nice, too. The Niçoise salad didn’t come with any protein unless you asked (and paid extra) which was unusual as that dish would almost always have fish. For the price, that dish was disappointing. However, we enjoyed our sandwiches, sweet potato fries and soups. It was nice to see healthy options including the cottage cheese and fruit salad. They also have a nice range of classic American and Greek desserts.

Blue Bay checks all boxes when it comes to a diner. Went with a group of 4 on a Saturday, at 9:45. Waited for 5 mins and was seated. Big menu, fast and friendly service. $15 minimum per person, also they don’t rush you out so you have time to chat and digest.
Complimentary coffee refills were nice,. Would come back.

The food is flavorful and the portions are generous. The dishes we ordered tasted like home made! The owner was there and was super hospitable. The waitress was nice and patient when we took time to order. Very accommodating to large groups as well. All deserts are made in house. We tried the Black Forest cake which was rich and decadent.

First off, they should call it Blue Bay Big Food Dinner. Servings were huge. Our waiter was fantastic, we never waited for refills,or had to ask for extra anything(napkins, sugar etc) The ribeye portion was very generous as was the Club, Steak Quesadilla and French Toast. We could not have enjoyed our experience anymore than we did, 100 percent recommend Blue Bay Dinner.

One of the best diners in Queens! Always and when I mean always, busy. And that speaks for itself. The food is great, and plentyful! The service is good. I’d say too busy to be great, the biggest leg down is the price. Things can add up pretty quickly here. Have the kids order off the kids menu and thing of sharing a meal to save some money. If not spend a bunch and have a good time. Even saw a celebrity eating here with his family one busy Sunday afternoon

The hot chocolate was really good. Outside of my company, that was the best part of the entire visit. The rest of the food was ok. Basic diner food flavor. The staff was all polite. My main issue and reason for the poor rating was asking for a minor request that was denied by the manager because they were more concerned about how it would “look” to other patrons. The ask was for plastic utensils for 1 person at a table of 2. The esthetic of 1 person using plastic utensils in a space where there was maybe 50 other people paying absolutely no attention to the 1 was a concern but not the scratched up water cups that were provided making it more than obvious they had been in use for quite some time. Neither the diner nor its decor is by any means new. So the big concern with how 1 person using plastic utensils would look is laughable. A person should not have to disclose personal medical information to a random person for such a request. And yes, it was only after it was clarified for the manager that the need was due to a medical condition that they agreed. Honestly, I don’t care what reason anyone gives for the request warranted that response. Someone may just not want to eat with utensils that thousands and thousands of others have used. We are expected to just trust that the sanitization process is sufficient or even done properly. I’m not saying don’t go here. Decide for yourself. This was simply my experience.

Blue Bay Diner is a popular local spot, and we’re always happy with the food. It consistently delivers that classic comfort food at a competitive price, which is appreciated, especially with so many places closing these days.
That said, the service could be improved. We often find ourselves having to track down our server for coffee refills and other basics. The restroom is also quite small and tends to run low on supplies during busy weekends.
Overall, though, it remains a reliable choice for a good, hearty meal.

Old school diner that are a dying breed these days. Love places like this and glad I came. The Fresh baked muffins and other treats on the counter tops are a must order. The banana muffin toasted with a little butter was a welcome breakfast for me. Breakfast is my go to at diners and this one didn’t disappoint. Is it 5 stars? No… but its a solid 3.5.

Consistent bang for your buck! A group of us came here for lunch and the food was very good! You get a huge amount of food that is very delicious! The service here is quick and attentive as you would expect! The place does get very crowded certain times of the day, so I would plan according! Overall, great diner!
