Every dish had excellent layers of flavor, and they had a very good wine list. It’s an Intimate setting in an old hotel with a wonderful community story. Reservations recommended, we got lucky but seemed like spots were usually a bit limited.

We always look forward to dinner at Blue but this time was a disappointment. Our server was all business which is fine but a little friendliness would go a long way. We ordered a first course – warm lobster salad – which was fantastic. We also ordered a second course – seafood chowder. Unfortunately it came to the table the same time as the first course and was underwhelming – little flavor, could have benefitted from a bit of salt but no salt or pepper on the table to try and flavor it. At this point we could have used a second cocktail but were never asked until after our entrees arrived. Our main course -both specials for that evening – were Filet Oscar and Scallops over risotto. The filet came our medium rare as requested but the crab meat and hollandaise sauce were cold. Not even a bit warm. The scallops were warm at best and the risotto undercooked with still some crunch. We sent both back but upon return they were hot but the filet now overcooked from the medium rare. Guess the microwave will do that. At this point, our server was obviously not happy with us. We had to ask for water for the third time. We elected to have our dessert on the porch. The chocolate cake was very good and the view spectacular. Pass on the espresso martini if you are tempted – not worth the $. Overall, we were so disappointed after looking forward to celebrating a birthday with the meal/experience.

What a cozy romantic place for dinner! We enjoyed tasty cocktails while waiting for our chowder and salads. The bread that is served is a chef specialty served with delicious herbs and olive oil. Trust me when I tell you it’s not your ordinary bread baskey served ocean side. We finished our meal with another chef specialty. Chocolate cake with buttercream served with the tastiest sour cherry sorbet ice ever had! Not interested in a dinner go for a cocktail and sit on the wrap around porch.

We had a wonderful experience at Blue! We were staying at a cottage in Georgetown and it was close by. The meal elegant, the server very attentive, the bartender made exactly what I wanted, plus!! The best part was a rainbow emerged while we ate after a downpour. The dining room emptied onto the lovely porch with an ocean and rainbow view to take pictures! I can’t forget dessert…a pecan tart with chocolate and coconut. All delicious! Thank you, Blue!!
