Let me tell y’all about this BEAUTIFUL place! I had to celebrate Valentine’s Day a week early with my honey, so we looked up places on TikTok and came across this Black-owned restaurant! When I tell you, they did NOT disappoint!! Whew! The staff was super friendly, and there was no wait time. I loved the jazz music playing softly in the background.

Our waitress was Asia, and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and readily available at any given time.

The food was incredible! Seasoned well and cooked to perfection! We had the stuffed Pork chop and stuffed Angus steak. The meat was so juicy and tender! The portions were huge; we ate off each other’s plates and still had food to take back. We will definitely be visiting again.

I had read about the Blu Jazz Cafe on Facebook. Some of my friends had dined there and were singing its praises and when I read the comments, which were all very good, my wife and I decided to give it a try. Once entering the restaurant we were immediately greeted by a very friendly hostess and we were promptly seated. Our waitress was very kind and she took great care of us. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and they were great (sorry but I didn’t get a picture of them). My wife ordered the redfish with a loaded baked potato and I ordered the stuffed pork chops with crab meat stuffing, a loaded baked potato and I added a side of collard greens with a cornbread muffin. The pork chops were great, the baked potato was perfectly done, and the collard greens had a good flavor as well. We definitely had a great dining experience here and we’ll certainly be back.

This was my first time experiencing the Blu Jazz Cafe and it was superb. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff are very friendly. I had ordered the Mardi Gras Pasta. The flavors was delicious and it was not overly spicy. For my drink I had the blueberry lemonade. I felt like it could have used a little more sugar. My only recommendations are to have more mocktail options, for everyone may not want tea, soda or water and to have jazz music playing in the dining area to fit the theme of the restaurant. Overall my experience at the Blu Jazz Cafe was great.

Blu Jazz Cafe might not be the largest restaurant, but it definitely makes up for it with great food, a solid drink selection, and a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere. My friends and I visited this spot twice during our trip, and both experiences were consistently enjoyable it’s clear the team here takes pride in what they do.

On our first visit, I ordered the catfish with sweet potato fries and paired it with a top-shelf margarita. The catfish was perfectly seasoned and fried to a crisp golden finish, and the sweet potato fries were hot, flavorful, and cooked just right. The margarita was well-balanced and smooth one of the better ones I’ve had in a while.

On our second visit, I went with the ribeye steak and sweet potato fries, along with another top-shelf margarita. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked exactly to order, with great flavor throughout. The consistency between visits says a lot this place delivers every time.

The manager and waitstaff deserve special mention they were all extremely nice, professional, and genuinely engaging. They checked in regularly without being intrusive and made us feel completely welcome.

Overall, Blu Jazz Cafe has a great vibe and offers good food, drinks, and service all around. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s definitely worth a visit.

The food was so delicious! Although the service was a bit slow, the gumbo and blackened redfish were absolutely amazing. The greens and cornbread could use some improvement. Just relax and enjoy the experience, there’s no rush, you’ll be here for quite some time.

got the creole crabcake pasta, and it was the best crabcake that I’ve ever tried. The pasta itself was very good, very flavorful and creamy and not too heavy on the stomach. Good portion sizes and the bread that comes with was also great. Overall, the food came out fast, service was good, highly recommend this place and I would come back.

5 Stars – An Exquisite Evening at Blue Jazz Cafe

My friend and I were looking for somewhere special to enjoy a Saturday night, and Blue Jazz Cafe exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was calm, elegant, and incredibly inviting. The staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The presentation of each dish was beautiful—true fine dining in every sense. We ordered the crab cake pasta and the Mardi Gras pasta, and both were absolutely divine. The meals were well seasoned, packed full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. Every bite reflected the care and creativity behind it.

We also appreciated how convenient the downtown location was, with just a short walk from parking. It was a wonderful experience all around. We’re already planning to make this a tradition and will absolutely be recommending Blue Jazz Cafe to our friends and family.

Please keep up the great work—highly recommend! Thank you for such a memorable night!

Girlfriend and I just wandered around downtown Hattiesburg and spotted this place so we decided to go in. Atmosphere was very cozy, it was dim but not dark, the air felt cool and just right for me. Servers were very friendly, seating was comfortable, menu wasn’t overly cluttered. I had the fried shrimp platter and my girlfriend had the main street chicken, both were delicious. Shrimp were seasoned and breaded real tasty, sweet potato fries were delicious, coleslaw was creamy, and my only complaint about the hush puppies is that I wanted more of them.
They even gave us a small bowl of apple pie on the house, perfect meal, wish I had ordered extra to take home.
