I was extremely impressed with this Black-owned eatery! We were greeted with the best smile and conversation from the owner- a very personable lady! She proceeded to talk about the selections on her menu and highly recommended her fried catfish. My friend and I both got the catfish dinner with sides of greens, cabbage, mac/cheese, yams. Every single thing was delicious! The best part is when we were leaving and telling her how great her food was, we noticed a small clothing store attached. She proceeded to tell us the clothing store was owned and operated by her 9-year-old granddaughter! Unfortunately we did not get to go inside of the store or meet “Ms. Future CEO” because it was Sunday and she was out with church activities (I think that’s what she said!) Anyway I absolutely loved it! Black people creating generational wealth for our youth! When I visit Gary again I will definitely come back in hopes of meeting “Ms. Future CEO” and eating some more of that delicious food!

Omg this was my first time at this restaurant and I was so excited to be there til time became a problem… I never been to a takeout restaurant for 2 hours waiting on food… I bought a loaded potato and a pot roast dinner omg when I tell you the time was outrageous to receive food … got there at 3:45 didn’t get my order taken til 4 because of line was told a 20 minute wait and omg I didn’t leave that place with my food til 5:30 … was gonna ask for refund but I was already 45 minutes in … so I get home to try to enjoy some pot roast but there was no pot roast … the one little piece you see in picture was the only meat in my plate ♀️it was just wet potato and veggies drenched in cabbage juice that I asked to be drained…. I don’t think I will be returning to this place….

I saw this place via social media and had to go! The food was amazing, I had the chicken Alfredo potato with shrimp and broccoli. Sooooo good and juicy! I will be returning to try other dishes. Service was nice, they were super appreciative for the support!

I really wish I could give this place 1000 stars! I mean, what’s not to love about the place. Upon walking into the establishment, it’s a VIBE! The owner Ms. Blossom is thee most sweetest, loving and caring person I’ve met in a long time and it comes out in her food! Everything from the food, atmosphere, service and vibes are top tier. I went because I read some reviews of this place and was intrigued. I’m glad I followed my 1st mind and went to this place to eat. TRUCKERS PLEASE GO HERE FOR SOME GREAT VIBES AND GREAT FOOD! It’s like having a home cooked meal while working over the road. If you’re searching for places to eat near you and Blossoms Potatoes pops up, that means you’re close by! Drop that trailer at the Pilot or TA off Burr St. & bobtail to her! You won’t regret it! The food spots around those truck stops won’t be getting any more of my $$! I will be sure to eat at BLOSSOMS POTATOES every time I’m this way! She has 67 different kinds of stuffed potatoes and I plan on trying them ALL! She also has other foods, even things for the kids! Oh, & the cake & slushes are awesome as well! Ms. Blossom I thank you for the wonderful experience at your establishment! That’s my NEW AUNTIE lol! So, if you’re in the area or even in Chicago, it’s worth the quick drive for the amazing food, drinks & vibes! I’ll be back!!

First time here and I will be back. Food was served hot and fresh and it was good. The owner even greeted us, made suggestions, and made my son food over, when he didn’t like it. Guess what? The food tastes good on the second day, after being warmed up.

This is what I look for when I go to a mom&pop shop. Blossom’s Potatoes Braised Oxtail with Broccoli on a jumbo potato. Fire. I don’t know if it’ll make it out of the parking lot.. the space is nice, and I love the noodles for the kids idea( they got the carbonara ones- been trying to find them since forever) I’ll be back for sure. Been meaning to come by and try for the longest, glad I finally did.BOB ftw!
